I can't be the only one looking forward to this game. You can have your Assassin's Creed III and Halo 4, THIS is the game I've been looking forward to all year. Though I'm a bit biased as I love open-world games AND Hong Kong action flicks. And since I don't plan on owning a PS3 anytime soon, this will probably be the closest I get to playing the Yakuza games on a 360.
It comes out this Tuesday but I doubt I'm going to get it on launch, mostly because I'm broke as hell right now. But it does look like it could be great.

Well official playstation uk and official Xbox uk magazines both gave it a 9, so that's good. Unfortunately I'm super broke, so I might have to wait a few weeks to pick it up. It looks awesome though.

I preordered my copy yesterday. It was at the last minute but I had been looking forward to this ever since I heard about True Crime Hong Kong and then it got canceled, until Square Enix bought it. I am psyched for this game.

I am really looking forward to this as well. I may be in the minority here, but I LOVED the True Crime games. True Crime NY was really cool at the end.... that whole apocolypse thing that you had to survive?? Awesome.

I have been cheer leading for this game for over a year. I am so stoked. I love the HK setting and vibe. This should be fun as all hell.

Sure, it had its flaws, but I actually enjoyed it more than the LA one.

Any idea on what we'll be able to do in the open world setting? Is it all mission-based stuff or can we just f*** around like we all know we're going to?

This game started as a new IP, Activision didn't have faith in it not having a name so they made it a True Crime game, then it went back to being its own thing when Activision gave it up

I'm so pissed at this point. Was planning on picking up this and Darksiders 2 on Tuesday, but my work forgot to put my PTO for my vacation on my check last week, so I ended up only getting half of what was coming to me. So.. yeah, gonna have to wait on both games. But, they're definitely on my list for next time I do get some cash..

Not really sure what to expect out of this game other than "free roaming + Arkham-like combat"
seems like enough though

Looks awesome. I was watching some Jackie Chan flicks a while back, and I remember thinking they should make a game with Police Story elements, like the fights etc. Looks like we might have it!

Marcus Beer aka the Annoyed Gamer has actually said good things about the game, specifically the driving which he hates in most every game ever.

I've only just started following the guy but his opinions are pretty close to mine. Really, my main worries going into this game would be "Would the driving suck like GTAIV?" and "Am I going to be stuck doing races for no reason?" When he said no on both accounts, I breathed a sigh of relief. Destructoid has posted an interview with one of the producers and their review will be up sometime today. I'm seriously considering just taking money out of the bank to buy this game and just deal with being broke for a little while.

A few reviews are in and it is looking good. Only getting knocked a few points for some technically issues (draw distance, texture pop in) and chracters that aren't riveting. But the game play is getting huge props saying fighting, gunplay and driving are all good and that it does many things better than GTA and SR.

The scores so far: Destructoid - 9/10 IGN - 8.5/10 Games Radar - 4.5/5 So far the only minuses I've read was IGN saying the camera is sometimes an issue and Destructoid saying the story is a little weak near the end, but they still consider it better than GTAIV. Also, one other aspect I forgot, the soundtrack. I'm a sucker for a good licensed soundtrack and apparently this one is awesome.
