There was a thread about this but as I was just posting in it, some strange stuff happened and now the thread seems to have disappeared. If I can find it, I'll merge this one with it.
Anyway, I think Vince was backstage and saw that the segment was going tits-up, so that is why Cole suddenly started burying it.

Piper has been annoying as hell since 2008 when he decided to go all Mickey Goldmill on us. Just be the Hot Rod for Pete's sake!

I have no idea where it's gone either.. Anyway as I posted in the other one which has disappeared :
Did no one else notice Piper shouting "Y2K! Y2K!" after Jericho cleaned house and Jericho had to tell him it wasY2J. Seriously... What was piper on last night?

I didn't think it was THAT bad. It was obvious that Vince hated it when Cole crapped on it.

It was a mess from start to finish, Piper was approaching the level of Sheiky Baby in terms of being a liability on the mic, missing his cues and fluffing his lines.

I think Edge ought to replace Piper as the go-to "Legend with a talk show". Especially considering how good his segment with Cena before Extreme Rules was.

Piper can f*** off. Returns all the time and just rambles incoherently. Hasn't been close to entertaining in years.

I think Piper might have either been under the weather or a bit drunk last night. He just wasn't his usual self.

I would love to see Edge back in any sort of capacity; he was great on the mic, had to retire due to injury while he was still in a good place, and isn't a burnt-out old man. This is a good idea.

i-cringed when he mentioned Jericho's dad...um...he's still my hero, but he needs to either know wtf he's talking about or give it up. I say that as his biggest mark on these boards.

I missed this segment, what happened? Piper didn't seem focused and it was not clear that he knew where he was going with his questions and comments. Also, he would randomly try to start 'Y2J' chants at odd times like during the entrance music of Dolph and Miz.

If anything, Jericho and Ziggler saved the segment. The only crime Roddy comitted was boredom. I think maybe holding off on doing more Piper's Pits might not be a bad idea. My issue is how Vince got Cole to bury the segment on live TV. If Senior Citizen Vince ran the show during the 1990 Survivor Series, you would have heard Roddy and Gorilla Monsoon openly mocking the Gobbldygooker on-air. But Vince in his younger days knew that would look unprofessional. Instead, the segment was shown on Superstars and then quietly dropped. If you don't like how it's turning out, don't bash it while it's still transpiring - that was disrespectful to Roddy, Jericho, Ziggler, Vickie and Miz.
