God damn it, I knew it. All the speculation just felt different this time.

I could see Netflix or Comedy Central doing to this what they did to Arrested Development and Futurama respectively. CC was QUICK to snap up syndication rights for Community and promote it during NBC's hiatus.

It's kinda too big to fail, not in ratings but that there's a lot of fans that are very dedicated.

Of course, they go to Kickstarter to fund the movie.

I wouldn't be surprised to see it resurrected by Hulu (who already have exclusive US streaming rights) which is owned in part by NBC and NBC Universal are making a big move into Hulu exclusive content right now.
I hope so anyway. The cynical part of me wonders if this is the plan, but instead of coming out with it they have done a cancellation announcement first to foster a "grassroots" "overwhelming demand" type situation to make Hulu look like good guys.

I loved this show. A lot.
But 5 seasons is plenty. Not every show needs to keep going like that. I hoped they would have ended it after they graduated and some sense of closure was reached.

But... It was so close. It was so f***ing close! Six seasons and a movie dammit!
I'm sad now. Not just because it was cancelled, but everyone at Greendale has just been killed by a giant meteor.

I'm sorry everyone. I finally started watching it because of the GI Joe episode, and now I think me getting involved got the show killed.

I'll miss it, but it would have been a vastly different show with all human life on Earth wiped out by the meteor. RIP Jeff, Britta, Annie, Abed, Troy, Shirley, Dean Pelton, Chang, Professor Hickey, Dr. Duncan, Leonard, Star-Burns, Magnitude, Fat Neil, LeVar Burton, and anyone else I may have forgotten to mention. The gang's in that great study hall in heaven now, except for Pierce, who is surely in hell. Goodbye Greendale.

We must now prepare for the asteroid that will surely destroy us all. It's canon.

This just popped up on my facebook feed, and I literally just gasped and opened up a new tab to go to FAN off topic.... For f*** sake!!!! This is terrible, terrible news Please say it get's picked up somewhere else, don't let it end like this!!!! I think the shows theme title and lyrics says it all on this one. I am now going to cry into my pillow in the fetal position

NBC does not deserve this show.
They have been looking for that show that will do Seinfeld/Friends numbers... and any good show they get, they consider it a failure if it does not get the highest ratings in it's time slot outright every week. It's amazing they let 30 Rock end on it's own terms.
