Let's be real, the Newz has no goddamn clue what Austin is going to do at this point.

Austin is a young man who needs something big to really get over with the crowd. Facing Punk would be the biggest match of his career.

Somehow CMP fans will find a reason to be insulted by this newz.

I'd like to see Austin have a final "run" instead of a match. Maybe a 1 month WWE title reign, 1 more match with The Rock, 1 more match with Triple H, and a match with CM Punk at the very least.

Considering Austin has said he was physically well enough back and neck wise to have another year long TV run a short while ago I think it's safe to call this newz.
If he did ever return then I can see it being held off for Wrestlemania 30 though, nice round number, and 'Mania 29 will already have a main events including The Rock, Brock Lesnar, and The Undertaker.

I'm sure the only people who would know if Austin planned on returning is Vince, JR, and the opponent he has in mind. This is a guy who kept his retirement a secret and only told three people about it. Vince, JR, and The Rock.

What Austin says and what the reality may or may not be could be totally different things. When I see the man actually in a match I'll believe it.

Oh I know, just with the article explicitly saying 'oh he's in the worst shape ever' it comes off as a complete lie y'know?

I really hope he has Punk in mind. I'd love to see that match in the worst way.

I don't see this as even teased in the headlines of the pwinsdier elite section, can anyone confirm that they actually said this? Or did wrestlezone just make it up again?
The Bleacherreport attributes this to "Pro Wrestling Insider". So if the junk sites can't even agree on who reported this, I'm skeptical.

Loved Austin back in the day, but have no desire to see him in a high level match anymore.

PWInsider Elite and Pro Wrestling Insider are the same site, Elite is the paid version where a lot of the big stories are first posted. With that said, IT IS NOT ON PWInsider. I just went through the elite/paid stories posted before this thread was started and Austin was not mentioned once in any of them.

IIRC, Punk said in a recent interview that Austin just had surgery. I wouldn't write it off as newz.

Austin had surgery on one of his knees recently aye (he wasn't on Raw 1000 due to being on crutches), but Austin himself has said he reckons he's physically fit enough to have a year non-house show run if he wished. I'll take the word of the man over a site falsely reporting whether anyone has any clue about Austin's physical & mental state, then saying it's on PWInsider when it's not.
