"Most would have reacted worse," isn't really a good reason for anything. I'm not saying Will Smith is an abusive jerk, just that he over-reacted a bit. Now, if you want to talk about strong words "violated" that's a helluva word to use in regard to what happened. Neither side was as dramatic as all that. I think violated is a perfect word. It's how I'd feel in the situation. Some European dude kisses you on the cheek (as is the custom there) and you would use the word 'violated' for that? But a dude smacks you in the face with the back of his hand and "slap" is too harsh a word? You're all over the place my man! Now if he was kissing you on the butt cheek I could understand the feeling! haha.

This is already way overblown, but you should see the comments on YouTube for this clip, talking about how his thug side was coming out on the guy (talk about ingrained racism) and how this will somehow be Will Smith's downfall. Best unnecessarily provocative YouTube comment I found on one of the reaction videos: Will Smith should be ashamed of his behaviour. And no one cares about that ugly n*****'s commentary following the clip. People slay me sometimes.

I was expecting like a hard, wife-beating, backhand the way the article described it. Upon seeing the video, it was more of a "don't try that s*** again" reprimanded smack. Plus he plays it cool it afterwards and looked like it only mildly bothered him. I'm with the Fresh Prince on this one. Exactly. TMZ makes it seem like Will went all Hank Pym on the reporter, when all he did was a little love tap slap and didn't seem all that visually bothered by it. The article made it seem like Will was like, "Ew, that's gay, dawg! Get your gayness away from me!" when in reality it was more of a, "What the hell man? Just kissing me out of the blue." Really he just seemed caught off guard by the kiss, that's all. y'know I really hate how Hank Pym is still the go-to bitchslap comparison guy... anyway, back on topic, good for Will.

I hope that just because he got in this one little fight that his mom doesn't get scared and make him move in with his auntie and uncle in Bel-Air.

That's a very different kettle of fish from a traditional European greeting (which I'm sure Smith is familiar with). I think if anyone tries to kiss a stranger on the lips, they should be expecting a slap. (Full disclosure: I'd slap a stranger who tried to kiss me on the mouth. It's an intimate gesture that carries with it the possibility of disease transmission. That someone would try to force that on me deserves a slap, and a hard one.)

Where's this vicious attack? All I saw was Will push away and playfully tap a reporter that caught him off card. TMZ's capitalization of "ATTACK" brings up images of a full blown gay bash assult that didn't happen. This is already way overblown, but you should see the comments on YouTube for this clip, talking about how his thug side was coming out on the guy (talk about ingrained racism) and how this will somehow be Will Smith's downfall. People slay me sometimes. When watching YouTube videos, I'd advise you to keep the safety mode on unless you can't view it otherwise, and even then: DON'T SCROLL DOWN. You'll save yourself some headaches.

Watch the vid, it was pretty clear the dude was going for his cheek. I'm not debating the guy was outta line with the kiss (even if it was on the cheek) but Smith pushed him away. Which is exactly what someone should do. Then he approached the guy again to slap him. Slapping him accomplishes nothing.

This is the main reason I'm going to miss CSI: Miami. Well, this and Eva LaRue.

Will's pimp hand was not strong there. I'd have given the dude a Glasgow kiss for his trouble.

Someone needs to lean the difference between a bitch and pimp slap.

I'm throwing my lot in with Will as well. I don't even know if kissing is a "Ukranian thing" or not, but you have to respect people from other cultures who don't do that sort of thing.
