www.tmz.com/2012/05/18/will-smith-slaps-reporter/The best part of the video is how it seems that Will got a huge face pop for smacking this guy. I don't blame the (Don't Get) Fresh Prince. I'd have taken issue with that as well. Definitely would've caught a 'bow from me.

Totally don't blame Will for this- dude was out of line, and he didn't even slap him hard.

Where's the gif of the boxer getting knocked out after he kissed his opponent?

It has nothing to do with gender, homophobia etc. The reporter had no right; male or female.

After getting slapped, the reporter cried out, "How come he don't want me, man?"

I was expecting like a hard, wife-beating, backhand the way the article described it. Upon seeing the video, it was more of a "don't try that s*** again" reprimanded smack. Plus he plays it cool it afterwards and looked like it only mildly bothered him.
I'm with the Fresh Prince on this one.

If they ever make a Mass Effect movie, Will Smith should play Commander Shepard. He already has the "hitting reporters" thing down. ;D

Good for him. I'd be pissed off as well.

TMZ makes it seem like Will went all Hank Pym on the reporter, when all he did was a little love tap slap and didn't seem all that visually bothered by it. The article made it seem like Will was like, "Ew, that's gay, dawg! Get your gayness away from me!" when in reality it was more of a, "What the hell man? Just kissing me out of the blue." Really he just seemed caught off guard by the kiss, that's all.

After getting slapped, the reporter cried out, "How come he don't want me, man?" James Avery was there by coincidence and comforted him. He even knocked off his cap in frustration.

I agree the reporter crossed a boundry, big time, but Smith shouldn't have slapped the dude, even if it was just a light one. He pushed him away - that I can understand, but the slap was just unnecessary and a bit immature.

I get that it was a knee jerk reaction, but that doesn't make it okay or excuse the behavior. It was a slap, a very light one, but a slap. Slap's not a strong word either. A slap is a purposeful hit to show disrespect.

I have a feeling had an actress been violated and reacted the same way a light slap would be universally cheered.

It is a knee jerk reaction, and its not about being kissed by a dude, but someone you don't know. Who knows what they may have in them, especially in a foreign country. I know its unlikely to catch something like that, but it is possible.

"Most would have reacted worse," isn't really a good reason for anything. I'm not saying Will Smith is an abusive jerk, just that he over-reacted a bit. Now, if you want to talk about strong words "violated" that's a helluva word to use in regard to what happened. Neither side was as dramatic as all that.

Based title I was expecting a hard open hand slap. But after seeing the video, that was nothing but a soft backhand at best. Very overblown story.

It's how I'd feel in the situation.
