We're in October now, and DC continues to change everything with its New 52 initiative, while Marvel, well, does its thing.
Discuss funny books, gentlemen.

I read Swamp Thing & Animal Man 2 - both pretty good and creepy, the stories are progressing along nicely.
A new artist for GI Joe came on this month and the book looks a million times better, but the real picks for this week were The Strange Talents of Luther Strode and The Last of the Greats.
Both of these books were frickin' ridiculous levels of awesome. Highly recommend.

Well, the DCnU gamble worked for the first month, at least, seeing as only three Marvel issues cleared the top twenty. I'll be interested to see how long that holds out.
Also nice to see that four of my fave fives ranked so well. Any idea where JSI placed?

You mean like there was a few months ago before Matt Fraction killed him because the current policy of both companies seems to be legacy characters can eat a dick?

Well I read both of my first issues of the New 52, Batgirl #1 and Static Shock #1. I liked them.
However I do see what everyone meant by the half-ass reboot. All they did with Static was move him from Dakota to New York City, it appears as if they left everything else as is with Static, though.

Hell there've been like six Captain Americas. I can't recall the exact list, but way way back in #350 there was a rundown of the men who've been Cap in the period when Steve was on ice etc. that's been retconned in.
It went something like
Steve Spirit of 76 two or three other patriotic characters ( I'd have to pull the book and look.. and this is in no way chronological) The Fifties Cap who became the Grand Director.. that Brubaker brought back, then killed off. John Walker/Jack Daniels/SuperPatriot/USAgent
And then of course Bucky.
Edit: Oh and the 'first' Cap from that miniseries Truth where the serum was first tested on a black guy.

I picked up the trade from the series Common Grounds from a few years back as well as Spider-Girl 0-6 trade, both for three dollars each. Good deals there.

The fact that Demon Knights is 30+ places behind Red Hood And the Outlaws is tremendously depressing.

I think the teaser I linked to is just gonna be something about another Winter Soldier, and of course... {Spoiler}It's gonna lead to something about Bucky returning to life, if Brubaker's recent tweets about 2012 being a big year for Cap are to be believed.

Yeah I figured that was probably the case. While I'll be glad to have Bucky back also.. why the f*** kill him off in the first place?

It seems Barnes & Noble yanked a bunch of DC graphic novels from its shelves because DC gave Amazon exclusive digital rites.
