So the new THQ president attacks one of only two franchises that are making the company any money. Great move there. Yeah that's not a great sign, and I agree with him. I thought Saints Row 3 sucked.

If they made Pride and Prejudice into a cover shooter I'd play the hell out of it. Well, "Pride and Prejudice...and Zombies" could easily be adapted form novel to video game, I'm sure.

Hey THQ, you know what's really embarrassing? A core function of your game working 25% of the time, at best, and the attempt to fix it actually makes it worse.

If he should be embarrassed about anything, he should be embarrassed about their DLC model.

I thought Saints Row 3 was a total blast. It was good for a few laughs and it was great entertainment. Not every game has to be ultra-serious.

Apparently just a misunderstanding. The article was updated

I'll agree with him to this extent... it was pretty embarrassing to have half the story missions just be slightly tweaked versions of side-missions and time-wasters. However, everything else was absolutely amazing... so yeah. Probably my only flaw with the game was half of the story missions being the side-activities. But how can you call something "embarrassing" when you have your main character and Pierce singing "What I Got" by Sublime in a car, a mission where you chop up luchadores to the sweet sounds of "You're The Best Around" and a part where the first thing you think about is the finale of Short Circuit 2? To me, that's just f***ing awesome.

How the f*** can a game that gives you the ultimate 80's finale be "embarrassing" , only thing missing was your character just wandering into " the blue oyster bar".

And down goes THQ, with a whimper. Aside from WWE games, I'm pretty sure the SR series is their bread and butter.
The only thing I didn't like about SR3 is the lack mission variety and character customization when compared with part 2.

Not really been able to get into the Saints Row games myself but all the same, what kind of idiot runs down what's probably the only series that'd be able to keep his company afloat?

I have a feeling that THQ is going to throw it's weight behind doing one giant, original IP that will suck all of the resources out of the company and will either bomb and kill the company, or will never come out.
I just feel like hiring Rubin, a guy whose biggest accomplishments since leaving Naughty Dog was making a comic and a few startups, doesn't sound like the best, most stabilizing idea for the company on the brink, especially when the president is known for being a little too candid and the company has shareholders to answer to. Although I can't see too many people still having THQ stock right now.

If they still had the rights to it, I'd have loved to have seen a dark, gritty, super serial remake of Crash Bandicoot.

SR4 will get serious, turn into GTA, get crapped on for not being as good as GTA 5, and quietly disappear.

You have to laugh at a THQ guy thinking he could make a game as good as Skyrim, or even RDR.
