I bring this up after hearing "We Are Young" for about the millionth time on my local variety station. I swear all I have to do is tune to that station for an hour or less any given day and I'm guaranteed to hear it.
If not that one, then either "Just the Way You Are" or "Moves Like Jagger", including one frustrating morning at the YMCA where those three songs were played, in order.
And I don't even listen to Top 40 stations. These are just the "best of today" that get played on v96.9 and on 95XIL.
On a classic rock note, my local classic rock station has an odd thing for "Paranoid" by Black Sabbath, but at least it's a short enough song and I still like it enough for it not to bother me as much as the above three mentioned songs.

I never want to hear "We are young" ever again. I hated that song from the moment I heard it and I hear it 70000 times a day

I don't listen to current music, but on one of the hits of the 70s, 80s and 90s type stations here in Chicago they have a MASSIVE RAGING AUDIO BONER for the song "Private Eyes"

Somebody That I Used to Know is getting really played out.
And since someone mentioned Classic Rock stations, I think that 100.7 in Boston must have some kind of contract to play Aerosmith's Dream On at least once every two hours.

Somebody That I Used to Know is getting really played out. It's this year's 'Pumped Up Kicks'.

Somebody That I Used To Know, which I used to love, and not the pop radio version, but now I've heard it so many times it just makes me mad. Same with We Are Young. I loooooved that song at first listen, and now every time I hear it, I turn the radio off.
They still play Pumped Up Kicks to death on my local channels. And some stupid song called Hell On Heels on the local rock station.

Even though i'm a dj, I stay away from any station outside of my own. It's all overplayed. I haven't heard any of these songs in this thread except Private Eyes and Dream On and Rolling In The Deep, and Starships

I actually haven't heard "We Are Young" a ton on my radio station, which is great since I love the song.
For Pop, I'll say all of Katy Perry's recent singles (Part of Me, that other one that sounds just like Part of Me), but for Classic Rock, it's got to be "Bohemian Rhapsody". Yeah it's a great song, that doesn't mean I have to hear it 25 times a day in order to remember that.

They still overplay that Bad Day song a million times on the radio stations here. I still despise that song.
I hate "Moves Like Jagger" too, though I just hate Maroon 5 in general.

Moves Like Jagger or any Adele song really I'm just sick of hearing.
I don't think I've heard 'We Are Young' once on radio even though it's number 1 in the charts. If anything Radio 1 have been playing Twin Atlantic more. And a big thank you to them for that because their album is amazing.

While the station I listen to does have a tendency to overplay the titans of classic soft rock - Barry Manilow, Anne Murray, The Carpenters, Air Supply, Boney James, Ronnie Milsap, etc. - the actual song selection is pretty good. I dare to say that it even rivals satellite radio at points. That said, there are two tracks that I would be thrilled to never hear again: "Woman, Woman" by Gary Puckett and the Union Gap and "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot. The former is an awful song made worse by the fact that Gary is probably singing about a 15 year old. As for the latter... we get it. Yes, the actual incident that inspired the song is a tragedy. It doesn't make the song any less boring and monotonous, however.

Strange. I have satellite too, and because of that I know, at some point, I can flip to any station, and I will hear "Moves Like Jagger." (I think I heard it on the Korean station and '20s on 2' once.)

We Are Young is awesome so I never mind it.
I hear "Someone that I Used to Know" all the damn time and I hardly ever listen to the radio, so that. Call Me Maybe also.

It WAS "Good Feeling", in fact that was probably the most overplayed song of all time. I was at a job where I listened to Urban Contemporary radio all day (not by choice...) at the time, now I don't really listen to the radio anymore, besides college stations which are glorious beacons of awesome in the sea of mainstream dreck.

I don't think anything will ever top the flood of Ricky Martin's "Livin La Vida Loca" in the summer of '99.

I don't listen to the radio for this reason alone. Thank god for ESPN radio.
