Sting is no longer using his Joker gimmick, rather he is just Steve Borden babyface wrestling authority figure.

He got magically cured in one day and it was never truly explained, was he just pretending to be insane to push Hogan off the edge till he turned red and yellow?, was his insanity directly linked with getting Dixie her company back? who the f*** knows.

He started it to reveal the real Hulk Hogan and the goodness in him, and he stopped when Hogan turned good again. The insanity was him trying to push him back to good.

Which raises the question of if Hogan's just given his moral center by the presence of Batman villains or something, but hey, at least it's consistent.

So Sting was sort of on the right track when he became The Crow in 96. He just got the series wrong.
If Sting had become the Joker instead in 1997, Nick Patrick would have actually counted fast and WCW would still exist.

That'd have been amazing. "Hogan! I'm gonna kick! Your! ICE!"

Wait, does that mean that Hogan gets Batnipples through his nWo T-shirt?

While we're on the subject of Hogan and Batman villains, I was wanting to do this. Spoilers for Arkham City - {Spoiler}

I'm thrilled that he's just Steve now. I just wish they gave him as much TV time as they gave Hogan/Bischoff.

So Hogan turned face because Sting dressed up like a cosplayer in 2008?

Hogan's change is more confusing than Sting's. I can understand that Sting had to go to drastic measures to get the match with Hogan and get the company back, but for Hogan it was like this:
Sting: Help me Hulk! I'm being attacked! Become good again and save me!
Hulk: Okey-dokey.
So random.

Was this actually explained at some point? I mean that was one of my hypothetical scenarios but I dont think it was actually explained and if so why would Sting being insane(or pretending to be) would drive Hogan good again? I can see HH betting the company for a match like it happened as far fetched as that was being part of Stings plan, but how would Sting know he would be brutally beaten and Hogan would turn good to save him, makes no sence whatsoever.

He said he had to step out of his comfort zone and come out of his skin a little bit as he dug down to do everything he could to bring the real Hulk Hogan back. Thats as much of an explanation as he's given.

He totally did it to annoy the hell out of Hogan until Hogan finally relented to give him the match. He knew Hogan wouldn't let him down at BFG because he believed so much in the real Hulk. Corny, but whatever.
