MMA needs a white boy challenge. What? Teddy Long and Rodney Mack's ill advised attempts to get heat. I nominate Anderson Silva.

MMA needs to be more down to Earth, completely off the wall and swarming with magic robots. Plus, you should win things by watching.

That read like it was written by a person who has only heard of mma from the backs of cereal boxes.

A few things on here are good, but it's mostly trash.
- A weekly show that recaps the current rankings and hypes the ppv's along with a couple of matches between scrubs would be nice.
-UFC does need a marquee event on the level of a Wrestlemania. The UFC ### thing really doesn't excite me. At least give them interesting names like boxing events.
-I agree that the octagon looks kind of tacky covered in advertisements. It's just hard on the eyes and distracting during the fights.

Do they put out documentary/"profile" dvds for certain fighters? That might work too. Heck, a "history of the ufc" dvd (one may exist, im not sure), done well, would probably be a huge seller (though i'd make it more in the vein of 30 for 30 that the wwe documentaries).

I'm not a UFC fan by any stretch, but even I know a lot of this list is just shit. There is probably about 5-7 OK to good ideas there. Having a flagship event is good advice. Likewise, consolidating the weight classes while it is debatable at least is an interesting thing to consider.
However, the rest of the list falls into two camps.
1. Ideas that have NO PLACE in MMA and are just ways to make the UFC more like pro wrestling, which it of course isn't. Things like tag matches, extended storylines, elaborate entrances, etc. have no part in the competitive sport that MMA is.
2. Things that UFC is doing, but has not done enough of for the author's liking. Such as fan events, merchandise and international expansion. That is not helpful original advice at all as UFC is course exploring those avenues already.

In the last year, or so, they have. There was a Rampage Jackson's Greatest Hits DVD released last year, that was a career retrospective mixed in with various matches. This year they've started an "Ultimate..." series of two disc collections that tell a fighter's biography on disc 1, with a collection of fights on disc two. So far they've done Ultimate Royce Gracie, and Ultimate Matt Hughes. Both of which were pretty well done. There's also a dvd called Bad Blood, which tells the story of the rivalry between Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell, with a feature length documentary, and both of their fights, which was also excellent. It's still a fairly young sport, though, and there aren't that many noteworthy careers that have completely played out yet. So you can't really expect too many of these to come out in the near future.

Bleacher Report is horrendous. UFC should take no lesson from WWE unless it's learning from their stupidity.

elaborate entrances, etc. have no part in the competitive sport that MMA is. I found this line incredibly silly giving that PRIDE had some of the most elaborate entrances of all time. They had production values that WWE couldn't afford for WM if they wanted to.

Well, like I said, not too many. And be it on a Severn or Kimo match collection, the Severn vs. Kimo fight from PRIDE 1 absolutely must be given a widespread release. *note: There is sarcasm in that last statement.

26. MMA Ladder matches 27. 30 man over the cage battle royals 28. Every show should start with the champion doing a 20 minute promo, another fighter comes out and challenges him, then Dana White comes out and announces the match will happen....TONIGHT!!!

Push a Poster Boy
They've tried this several times. The only time I can think of that it really worked out was Chuck Liddell. All the others have ended in either a contract dispute (Gracie, Couture) or an unexpected loss (Belfort, Lesnar). You can't force-feed an "elite athlete who defines an era" in a sport where it's exceedingly rare for a guy to win 4 or 5 fights in a row.

Read the whole list......
Only points I agreed with were:
- Consolidate weight classes some - I'm sorry but to me a 5lb difference doesn't seem like it should be a very big deal - Ticket Prices - they are kinda high but no event has ever come close enough to me to matter......WM is overpriced but that's only once a year. - Going international - can't be a bad idea....money to be made - Become a publicly traded company - money to be made again - Merchadising - more the better - Fighter entrances - being cocky adds entertainment value
Everything else was basically implementing WWE/wrestling into UFC which I don't want to happen

They had production values that WWE couldn't afford for WM if they wanted to. I think it is debatable. As I mentioned I'm not a UFC (or for that matter an MMA fan). I'm just thinking more about the mindset people are in when they play competitive sports. Sure, you will have some competitive athletes who like or even love showboating like Dennis Rodman, Joe Namath, etc. However, some guys just want to get in the mindset to win and are all business. Forcing them to do silly, elaborate entrances could put them off their game.
