I found this line incredibly silly giving that PRIDE had some of the most elaborate entrances of all time. They had production values that WWE couldn't afford for WM if they wanted to. I think it is debatable. As I mentioned I'm not a UFC (or for that matter an MMA fan). I'm just thinking more about the mindset people are in when they play competitive sports. Sure, you will have some competitive athletes who like or even love showboating like Dennis Rodman, Joe Namath, etc. However, some guys just want to get in the mindset to win and are all business. Forcing them to do silly, elaborate entrances could put them off their game. I'm not sure why the UFC seems to dislike the idea of an elaborate ring entrance. But some guys like Tom Lawlor have managed to sneak in a flashy ring entrance(in hilarious fashion at UFC 113). Chuck Liddell had an interesting one years ago with a weird video intro from Mask of the Tapout crew, followed by a walkout to a metal version of Ice Ice Baby. I think the mentality is that the focal point should be the actual fight, rather than any sort of other spectacle. Or perhaps it was to set itself apart from PRIDE, who was their biggest competition at the time. Or maybe just to keep the similarites to pro wrestling to a minimum. *shrug*
