Barry has the ground game of an albatross. Schaub is being pushed, but I see him as a soon to be jobber to the stars. Kongo only wins fights if he can pull off his signature 3 groin shots and eye gouges a round. I never said any of them will be champions, but that doesnt make them cans either. Demian Maias standup is on par with Pat Barrys ground game. Is Maia a can? Being one dimensional doesnt make you a can, it makes you one dimensional. Schaub is being groomed for the big time, but he hasnt fought anyone yet. An ancient Cro Cop is not a worthwhile victory. Actually, an one-dimensional BJJ grappler is a lot more dangerous than an one-dimensional striker. Just saying. As for Schaub, I think they are hoping that he gains a ground game. Like Mitrione, they are ex-football players. Unfortunately, neither of them have a ground game of any note... yet. If they can get better at wrestling and BJJ....

Maia outstruck one of the Millers on his feet. Not saying hes great by any means, but he at least has a backup if he can't get to the ground. Barry Meanwhile is allergic to takedown defense and got choked out by a non hooked Cro Cop.

Well it seems like Lashley fought some can yesterday, gassed and looked bad in the process.

Oh well. Im sick of hearing about Lashley tbh. He was vastly overrated, fought cans, and IMO was trying to cash in on Lesnars transition.
It was annoying to hear people claiming he was going to be a PPV explosion because he was ex WWE.

I actually like watching ol' Bobert fight in MMA. I imagine that I'm in the minority on that, because he's not really that good, but I always love to watch old wrestlers have any sort of success when they float over into legit fighting competition. Personally, I don't think he gets enough credit. He has won every match he's been in, save for that match with Griggs where he pretty much got screwed over in the second round, and he's only been in the sport for a very short while. Oh well, to each his own, I suppose... but I'd still like to see Lashley move up a step in his quality of opposition to see what he's really made of, but it looks like that might be a while.
Anyone else remember Lashley being pegged to face Fedor, but his management (smartly) saying he wasn't ready yet? Well, since then, he's won a couple and Fedor has lost a couple... why don't the go'on and throw that together for us? It couldn't be anything but fun to watch, at the bare minimum.

What I like about Bobby is the fact that he is very realistic about his abilities. Sure, he gets big pushes near the top of cards because of his wrestling fame, but he's still trying to fight in his same level of skills while attempting to improve.
Although, I do hope that within a few more fights he'll take a big breath and step out of his comfort zone.
And as a sidenote, if Dan Hardy tries to have a stand-up fight with Anthony "Rumble" Johnson tonight, he will go sleepy-bye-bye really quickly. And that is my random prediction.

Dan Hardy had a lay on the ground fight with Rumble Johnson (my brother from another mother), and still lost. Methinks his hype train may be over.

In bantamweight news, it looks like after Urijah Faber's win last week, he's set to face Dominick Cruz for the bantamweight title at UFC 132 in July. It's the same card as the Fitch-Penn rematch. I was hoping to see them as coaches on the next season of The Ultimate Fighter but that would mean not seeing them fight until December so I'm fine with this decision. Speaking of Urijah Faber... could someone please explain to me the big deal about him? Please understand that I am not knocking the guy, and that I'm not trying to underestimate him. I just literally have seen very little of his career, save for that last fight (which was nothing special), but I have heard Joe Rogan mention him about a thousand times. So, what's up with it?

I just literally have seen very little of his career, save for that last fight (which was nothing special), but I have heard Joe Rogan mention him about a thousand times. So, what's up with it? He didn't look the greatest last fight, I'd recommend looking up his last fight in WEC against Takeya Mizugaki who's a damn good fighter that Faber just destroyed. His appeal is that he's a fantastic wrestler, who can hang with pretty much anyone at 135 and 145 grappling, and outwork 99% of them. He's an active wrestler who likes to work for GnP and submissions at all times on the ground, and although his standup isn't the greatest, he's good enough to that he can hold his own against most, and utilizes some flashy moves from time to time. Plus, on top of all that he's a good looking, charismatic guy who people just gravitate to. That's as much apart of his appeal as his skills. By no means am I an expert, as I just started watching WEC around the time he lost the belt, but when he's on his game he's a fantastic fighter to watch, and I honestly don't think he'll lose at 135 for a while.

Is it possible that DNA splicing is the newest development in doping?

There's only one explanation. Thiago Silva...is not human. This finally makes sense. Silva's mother was impregnated by a dildo, hence Thiago is part dildo.

Jon Fitch has had to pull out of the BJ Penn rematch due to injury. I'm sure Dana White is dancing a happy dance because it helps him continue to keep Fitch away from a title shot he earned two fights ago.
No replacement has been announced yet for Penn's next fight.
Ricardo Almeida has made the decision to retire following his UFC 128 loss. Wants to spend more time with his family.
"M-1 Challenge 24: Damkovsky vs. Figueroa" drew 189,000 viewers to Showtime. M-1 Global struck a broadcast deal with Showtime in January as part of a contract renegotiation with heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko. Three more U.S.-based events are scheduled to air sometime in 2011.

Seems like a simple solution to prevent this, and that's the shirt around the armpits, pants to the ankles piss test. Hell, I don't know why you wouldn't do that, especially when someone in your sport has been caught taking advantage of the rules already. (Kevin Randleman) Source

Looks like Keith Jardine has signed with Strikeforce and making his debut as a last minute replacement for Mike kyle.
Anyone else reckon that Jardine is going to be on the receiving end of another highlight reel KO.
