Hopefully the big name that takes over (If this is true) takes a more subdued, not on air role.

So harm two characters for the potential benefit to one future authority figure?
I would says newz as that's a stupid plan but it's not exactly outside the realms of possibility.
Or maybe Heyman is leading a coup.

I would laugh and cry if he did all that to just bring in Big Johnny again.

The whole fascination WWE has with authority figures lately is really out of control.

Vince McMahon fires both and appoints himself as GM, then at the end of the night removes his face mask to reveal, who else but Dean Ambrose.

Or maybe Heyman is leading a coup. With AJ it would fit her crazy chick persona. Most likely in the next few weeks, Vickie Guerrero is going to continue pushing AJ's buttons leading her to snap and attack her leading to her termination as GM, which could easily transition into a AJ/Vickie feud afterwards. Booker T, the only way I can see him losing his position is if more non-wrestlers get assaulted by Superstars leading to a formal complaint to the Board of Directors.

If it's true that they're bringing in a big name, you know that not only will they be an on-air character, they'll likely be involved in major storylines as well. Get ready for another Stone Cold/McMahon feud rehashing.

Vince will fire AJ and Booker, who will then file a lawsuit against him. Vince will bring back Johnny Ace who, swerve, files a lawsuit against Vince for firing him earlier in the year. HHH will ask Vince why he brought Johnny back, and Vince will get mad at HHH and file a lawsuit against him. Stephanie will be furious with her dad and file a lawsuit against him. Paul Heyman shows up and tells tells Stephanie that due to her attack at RAW 1000, he's filing a lawsuit against her. Heyman's kids show up and say that Stephane was right, they are embarrassed by him...so they're filing a lawsuit against him. Billy Bobkins who lives next door to Heyman then shows up and tells Heyman's kids they never returned his frisbee, so he's filing a lawsuit against them.
Vince makes Billy Bobkins the new GM and the boom period commences.

Watch they bring back Big Johnny, because you know, some low level goon trying to cost the company millions in firing John Cena and dumbass iron clad contracts is AOK with the board of directors...apparently.

I wouldn't mind authority figures if WWE did something different once in a while instead of tired old "heel gm abuses power and feuds with Cena/other top babyface".
Like... I dunno, a cowardly, pushover of GM who caves into heels threats and bullying tactics, giving them opportunities out of fear instead of showing heel bias just because he's a douche. Or a completely crazy GM who tries to book Cena and Orton in a pillow fight. Or Kane as GM making every match as dangerous as possible "Kelly Kelly... Eve... tonight you will face off... in a barbed wire match!"
