What are your thoughts on it?
After playing all 3 stories, I liked Leon's the best. His felt more like a Resident Evil game than the rest. Chris' felt like I was playing Resident Battlefield/Call of Evil, and Jake's was 'meh' but felt incredibly short. Also, they seem to have changed the shooting mechanics more towards the style of ORC, which feels like a step down from RE5.
I know it's only a demo, but it felt a little underwhelming IMO. I'll still give the full game a chance.
EDIT: This will now be a discussion thread for the full game since it just released.

I am getting this game for Leon's campaign. That is going to balls out awesome. I'll probably play Jake's campaign a few times, but only because it has Sherry in it. Chris' I'm only playing once for the sole purpose of unlocking Ada's campaign(you supposedly have to beat all three of the main ones to unlock her campaign). And getting to watch Ada strut around in skin tight leather pants will make playing through Chris' campaign worth it.

Honestly? Hugely dissapointed. It really doesn't feel like Resident Evil anymore. Then again 5 didn't feel like a RE game either so I shouldn't be too surprised.

I only tried Chris and Leon's and Leon's was so much better. I couldn't even play Chris', it felt like COD or something. If Leon's is like that the entire game then I will definitely be buying it.
I just want RE to go back to survival horror. The first few RE games still traumatize me.

Meh.
Another rubbish shooter clone.
RE has lost all the appeal the series ever had because of some stupid idea that consumers would prefer this over what made the series in the first place

Meh. Another rubbish shooter clone. RE has lost all the appeal the series ever had because of some stupid idea that consumers would prefer this over what made the series in the first place It isn't a stupid idea. Consumers do prefer this kind of RE. RE5 was the best selling game in the series. The next best selling RE game is RE4. The third best selling is RE2, and that sold 2 million copies less than RE4. So sales wise, how else is Capcom supposed to react? This third person action-horror shooter style of RE games is far and way the best selling style of the series, of course they would continue it. They would be insane to go, "You know what? RE4 and RE5 are the two best selling games in the series. We should stop making the RE games like these two and instead go back to making the RE games with fixed cameras and tank controls." People complain about the direction publishers take series in, but it is up to us to vote with our wallets. And they voted loud and clear how they want the RE series to go. More action-horror, less survival horror.

But they dont have the option of the other.
People do enjoy shooters, obviously, and the RE name is one that garners interest whatever they put out.
I'd rather they take a risk with something, or even put out a game outside the main series that would cater to people looking for something a bit different than keep putting out the same thing.
They put out that Rainbow Six style thing which was all about shooting and now this one.
Could one of them not have been a bit more survival horror in it's leaning, instead of the same old same old cloney shooty game?

They did take a risk with an RE game, and at the same time made it more survival horror like. RE: Revelations. The fact that they made that game for a handheld system where selling under a million copies isn't considered a total loss says all that needs to be said, really.

A 3DS game though.
The 3DS is generally a console for children, and thus that was never going to sell massively. Plus isn't that the game where they screwed the save system up and got slammed for it everywhere?
There is nothing out I can think of in the vein of the old RE survival games, and as such, if Capcom went for the whole nostalgia plus gap in the market and actually said 'look, its something a bit different' they would likely sell a decent amount imo.
Especially if they had done about a year ago when the zombie craze was still going super strong.

Played through Leon's demo, and it's pretty f***ing awesome. I still don't really like how easily zombies go down when you melee them...I'd prefer you to be pretty much f***ed when they get close to you. But I guess the whole mob swarming you thing that they like to do wouldn't work as well, as you pretty much need to melee them. Still, it makes the zombies a lot less scary to me.
Played a tiny bit of Chris' demo, and actually turned it off because I disliked it that much. I'll give it another shot soon, but man...I really don't like that direction for the RE series at ALL.
And the other dude...yeah, I'll try his demo too eventually.

Doesn't that sort of contradict your previous statement? If they were to go back to the survival-horror style, wouldn't that consider them doing the same thing? Believe me, I prefer the survival-horror aspect of the earlier games, but that would have gotten old pretty fast. Action-horror made them the most money, and that's what they're sticking to. Leon's campaign, IMO, felt like a great mixture of the two genres. Still an action shooter, but with a dark and creepy atmosphere with a small feeling of dread akin to the first set of games. If RE was set to that environment, I feel more people would would be satisfied and wouldn't complain as much about the direction the series is going.

I just meant after the series has gone in that direction much more with 4, definitely with 5 and then unrecognisably so with the Resident Evil: Rainbow Six. I'd just like a throw back survival horror game with these characters again.

Any word on how long each campaign will be?

Any word on how long each campaign will be? Supposedly around 10-12 hours each. IE, the length of RE4 and RE5 combined. It is basically 3(technically 4 with Ada's campaign depending on that one's length) full games in one.

I'll admit, there were times in Leon's part of the demo I was like, "f*** this!" and ran away from the zombies, mainly because I was running low on ammo for his pistol and I didn't trust his knife(about that.....I think it is total BS that they've gone back to making you have to select the knife from your inventory, instead of how RE4, RE5, and RE:DS did in by mapping the knife to your shoulder buttons).

I was constantly running out of ammo. It seemed a lot more scarce. Either that or my aim is horrendous.
