I was constantly running out of ammo. It seemed a lot more scarce. Either that or my aim is horrendous. The only one I had trouble keeping ammo in was Leon's. Chris' had enough ammo, and dear lord was I armed to the teeth in Jake's.

Chris' had enough ammo, and dear lord was I armed to the teeth in Jake's. I was having the most trouble with Chris. The assault rifle's kick was killing me. I couldn't aim that thing for shit. As for Jake, they might as well have just given you a gun with infinite ammo. Hell, with him, half the time I just melee killed enemies. Leon's was definitely the most traditional RE experience. Not a lot of weapons, so you just had to make due. What pissed me off was that near the end of his part, I realize the AI had somehow acquired a shotgun for my partner. Where the f*** was that when we were getting mauled in the hallways!?

That moment in Leon's campaign where you're running through the barricaded streets passed the swarm of zombies so you can get to the police car; I was scared that I was going to bump into one and they'd grab onto me. Then there's the part where you open the door early in the demo, and that zombie immediately charges at you without any time to react. Also, the part where you're driving away, and Leon looks out his window, the camera pans in a bit focusing on the field, and then that f***ing zombie that's managed to stay on the roof of the car pops his head into frame, making me jump back and then laughing at myself for falling for that. Leon's campaign was fun.
I'm under the impression that the 3 campaigns represent the 3 different RE genres. Leon's the more horror-oriented like the early games, Chris' a pure action/army shooter but with zombies and giant creatures as enemies (so Gears of War, I guess) that feels little to nothing like RE, and Jake's the action/horror hybrid that's continued from 4 and 5.

Close. Capcom has called Leon's campaign "gothic horror" in the same kind of vibe of RE4(but more like the earlier games), Chris' is "military horror"(I have never seen a "military horror" well....anything before), and Jake's is "action horror".

Isn't the FEAR series Military Horror?

Isn't the FEAR series Military Horror? Not really. It is supernatural horror. Capcom's idea of military horror is Black Hawk Down. No seriously, they kept saying over and over how that was their main inspiration for RE5. Basically, it seems to them military horror = shooty shooty vs. a massive horde of bum rushing enemies.

So not really anything scarier than the threat of being overrun by the enemy. While certainly a scary element in a zombie game, you need other elements otherwise it gets stupid.

"Gothic Horror" sounds good enough for me. More of that for RE please.

That and well....most of the time in Chris' part of the demo the enemies stood back and used cover........they often didn't rush me until their J'avo mutations manifested and they all became wannabe Krausers. Doesn't help that the exact same strategy for beating Krauser with his shield arm works just fine on the shield arm J'avo. Just shoot their shins and that's it.

If it were possible then I'd just get Leons chapter since that sounds the most interesting of them all.

Changed to the title. This is now a discussion thread for the full game.

Got it last Friday and finished it recently. It was okay. I did like how they split the story up into four separate campaigns, but overall wasn't wowed by it. {Spoiler}The amount of times they do the fake death horror thing with Leon's boss is ridiculous.

Terrible demo, after the truly shite RE5 I'm done with this series, barring a miracle.

...am I the only one actually playing this today? At least I have an excuse as it's not released in the UK until Friday. Or midnight Thursday but I'll be getting it Friday since I can't get a lift.

I'm kinda liking it to be honest guys. It's a solid action game and the story fits the RE mythos better than some other things we've seen.
That being said, I'm on Live right now as S1mplyMantastic so if any of you fellas are interested, we could tear up some co-op or Mercs.
