LOL! J/K. ;D
WWE LOOKING FOR A FEW GOOD DIVAS By Mike Johnson on 2012-10-25 11:06:07 WWE issued a casting breakdown last week, seeking new women to apply to become WWE Divas.
The breakdown noted the company was looking for woman aged 18-30 "with charismatic personalities, beautiful faces and great bodies."
The breakdown requested resumes as well as headshots and bikini body shots.
Interestingly, the breakdown did not mention any in-ring wrestling requirements, instead noting that WWE Divas "instantly gain a huge fan base", travel the world and appear on TV in "600 million homes worldwide" as well as photo and video shoots and charities.
Hopefully, we get more Eve's and fewer Kelly Kelly's out of this lot. If not, I at least hope that they don't expect them to wrestle.

Shame, it looked like they were going in the right direction with their last few hires.

I'm hoping one of two things is happening here.
A: they're going to split the Divas and women's wrestlers into two camps, and they're looking for valets/announcers or what have you.
B: they're gonna hire a bunch of models, and have Del Rey run a boot camp to sort out the weak.

So, let's put faith in Sara that she can teach them how to not kill themselves.

Divas do not instantly gain a huge fanbase. I don't think many of the divas have a huge fan base.

Why does WWE still have the Divas? Between how WWE clearly feels about women's wrestling and the limitations the PG rating puts on using them as eye candy, why do they even bother?

Shame, it looked like they were going in the right direction with their last few hires. Unless Sara Del Ray has a career ending injury, I'm guessing she has her current role because they don't think she's hot enough to put on TV. If I'm right, that would say all that needs to be said about how WWE feels about women's wrestling.

BTW Sara Del Rey is gorgeous, thinking she's not hot enough to put on TV is really narrow-minded. If the concern is "people will realize how terrible the current divas are if we put her on TV", that's more understandable, but also short-sighted and stupid.

I dunno, Kharma made it to television and she didn't "fit in" with WWE's feelings on women's wrestling. (Not saying she's ugly, but you get my point.)

If I'm right, that would say all that needs to be said about how WWE feels about women's wrestling. There is potential though, and that's my hope. Basically she could be like Finlay, where they want to use someone extremely talented backstage and put them in front of the camera. I don't get how Del Rey doesn't have the looks, like, she's not super then, but neither is Beth Phoenix or Natalya. But then again, look how they're used. Punk talked about in that comic con about how a lot of people would be and are upset that they can't see her on TV, and that she is happy where she is. The thing is, I think she could be incredibly over. Like, she would get a chunk of the audience to get behind her like Daniel Bryan had at the beginning. They could start her out like that. I guess women's wrestling still has a number of years to go before it gets accepted. Hell, women's MMA is picking up a lot quickly with mega stars like Cristine Santos and Rounda Rousey.

Put all the divas in one room with a bunch of people who never seen wrestling before and Kharma would be the one that gets the most amount of attention. Than they'll all think damn I kind of want to see her murder these barbie dolls. That's something new.

If they wanted her to do Finlay's job, they could have just made her the producer for the Divas matches. Instead, she's in developmental, where anything she teaches someone can easily be untaught once that person is called up.

They have Tenille when she is fresh to go, they should market her as the next "focus point" diva like they tried with kelly kelly. Instead of looking for more divas they should just push Beth and Natty. The fact those two never had a program against each other is stupid.
Its only now that they are in a bind with Kelly leaving that they think, oh s*** we shouldn't of fired Mickie James, Serena or suck the energy, basically burning out Beth with horrible booking.
They have had the talent over the years and wasted it, why make a point of it now that they are looking for more Divas, It's just going to end up the same, they can't give Natty a match on Raw or Smackdown the lasts longer than the entrances , but hey are going to look for more people to employ and then just waste. My point is they have the talent they should be fixing the division they have instead of making out that its more talent they need. Paige is more than capable of moving up to Raw/Smackdown, but that hasn't stopped them from rehashing the same 90 second squash matches on TV.
They wouldn't even give Kaitlyn a PPV Match, but rather give the title to someone who is currently being used in a GM assistant role on TV than a wrestling role. You can't just throw talent at the situation, because it's just going to end up with more women in FCW who get wasted or who get eventually released because the WWE doesn't want to really reboot the division at all.
It also takes away talent from indy promotions. I'm glad the SDR will hopefully make a decent amount of money under their employ as a trainer, but that means no more SDR in Chikara or Shimmer, that means no more SDR on DVD. It's the same with TNA now that they will not let talent work indy bookings that a filmed for DVD, that means if Madison Rayne isn't used for weeks she isn't going to be seen anywhere, How is Taeler Hendrix going to be seen if she is just stuck in OVW and not called up.

If Kharma had remained with the company, i think they would more then likely have taken the division far more seriously and hired experianced girls to come in. Sara Del Rey is beautiful but probably not the look the WWE really would want to push. If it means more models coming in and getting proper training by SDR then thatll be great but i dont have high hopes for a great womens division any time soon.

Agree 100%, also the funny thing is those down to earth women are usually more attractive once the make up comes off.
