Punk vs Undertaker
Two great wrestlers who had 0 chemistry and a string of utter shite matches couple with ridiculous booking and silly swerves.

I really liked the Elimination Chamber match I beg to differ. Their match on Raw at the end of 2003 was great. I also enjoyed their match at Royal Rumble 2004. It could have been a lot better if not for the finish. As well as Benoit vs HHH vs HBK, the Taboo Tuesday match. Overall I really like most, if not all of the matches they had What?[/quote] HBK won the fan vote for TT 2004, even though he tore his knee to shreds the night before. Apparently HBK got a rousing ovation from the back afterwards for the performance on such a bad wheel.

Punk vs Jericho at WM this year. I know they tried but given that this was the match everyone was pointing too as "The Technical showcase" in this years WM, it did kind of drag a lot. I was at Mania and I was so pissed how little the crowd cared about this match until they started teasing finishers. They were busting their asses and got crickets. I'm not blaming those fans, cheering is a visceral reaction. you don't cheer because you think you should be cheering. It was disheartening, though. I bet it really bothered both guys. That's three disappointing big WM matches for Jericho, Triple H and Edge being the other opponents. There's something going on there. Maybe he just doesn't have an extra gear to make the biggest matches live up to the hype.

Rob Van Dam vs. Randy Orton sounded much better on paper than the actual result.

I think it's because Jericho's been overrated by some people as actually being the best ever, when he's just great, not the best. I mean outside of HBK and Mysterio, what amazing matches has Jericho done since he returned in 2007?

Many of the recent WM matches involving Jericho. Unfortunately he always seems to come up short. Every year, his match is going to "steal the show" and then it turns out to be alright or good, but not what we expected.

Rock vs Taker and Triple H vs Kurt Angle at No Way Out 2002, seemed like every wrestler at that ppv just phoned it in.

Eddie Guerrero vs. Rob Van Dam from Backlash 2002. Kind of a weird misfire, but it was the first time the two wrestled. The next PPV produced a much better match, and of course the ladder match from Raw was brilliant.
But yeah, Austin vs. Jericho was the epitome of this category. Jericho actually watered down a really solid Austin/Benoit program in 2001, then by the time Jericho had the belt Austin was just toast. People forget about Austin's horrid 2002 work since he quit in protest mid year, but his work after losing the unification finals to Jericho was completely awful on every level. His matches sucked, his promos sucked and were full of "WHAT?" crap, and he had zero desire to make anyone look good or put anyone over.

I thought he was great in the Rumble that year but, yeah, after that he just completely went to hell and in hindsight it's easy to see that he was almost finished. His match with Jericho at No Way Out was horrid like a lot of us have already mentioned. So was his match with Undertaker at Backlash. His Wrestlemania match with Scott Hall was pretty crap outside of Hall's sell job on the Stunner. His work with Big Show and Flair before he walked out was bad too. I remember an interview where he basically said he felt it was a slap in the face for him to go from headlining arguably the biggest match of all time at WM X7 and having the greatest in-ring year of his career in 2001 to then be rewarded by being in a midcard match the next year at Wrestlemania X8. Injuries/burnout obviously played a part but it does seem like his frustration over that decision caused him to just stop caring too.

I have to say, Benoit vs. Jericho on the Raw in Japan in 2005 felt like it lacked substance. Both guys were great and more or less in the country that helped make their careers, but it didn't seem as exciting as I thought it would be.

Surprised nobody has mentioned HHH/Orton from WM 25. The two should have hit it out the park, but it was easily one of the worst WrestleMania main events ever. Actually all Orton/HHH matches were bad. They just don't work well together.

Really, I'm of the opinion that Jericho is a Mania choke artist. His best match at the show (besides the Mania 21 Money in the Bank match) was either going like five minutes at most with Ricky Steamboat or only being on for about ten against Christian. Anything other than that was just boring. Surprised nobody has mentioned HHH/Orton from WM 25. The two should have hit it out the park, but it was easily one of the worst WrestleMania main events ever. Actually all Orton/HHH matches were bad. They just don't work well together. Pretty much. I liked the Rumble 2005 match, but that's about it for them and even then it made Orton look like a complete joke.

I love the Chicago Street Fight with Punk at Extreme Rules this year and would rate it on the same level as his matches with HBK and Mysterio

Though it does kind of bug me that throughout it Jericho's various match-enders aren't really portrayed as much of a threat and instead the big possible victory for him is Sweet Chin Music. Still, minor grievance.

I only managed to gather up enough energy to cheer for entrances (of Punk/Jerko/Ziggler/Miz) until the main event. Then I blew my voice out booing Machine Gun Kelly... I do agree though, I think Jericho is a great wrestler but he is not the greatest of all time or as up to standard as many believe he is, and that's fine, he's no Daniel Bryan or Kurt Angle or even a John Cena, he's just below.

And they had another damn good Last Man Standing Match on an episode of Raw in 2009. And that match for some reason was 6 days before The Bash, and it destroyed the match you had to pay for. Cena and Orton, just because they've faced each other so many damn times.

Kind of funny since they mesh well when tagging, but I don't think I like a single one of their matches. Including the Iron Man one.
