whether from a bad experience or just because it didn't sound good, but you ended up liking after all. I've got two, Subway and Carl's Jr. (or Hardee's, depending on where you are in the country). We got Subway for a party years and years ago, probably '95 or so, and it was just horrible. We finally got around to trying it again just last year, and my God was it a lot better than I remembered. I chalk this up as proof of how important location is to how a restaurant tastes - because the one we had long ago wasn't the same location as the one we get now. As for Carl's Jr. - pretty much the same deal. Tried them once years back and it was just awful - dry chicken, etc. Tried them a few years back and they're one of the best fast food joints in town. So, what are your examples?

KFC and Church's. Church's is just so goddamn greasy, which is saying something since just about every fast food place has greasy food. As for KFC (Kemically F***ed-up Chicken), it literally makes my head hurt just smelling it. Dunno if it's the "13 seasonings," the chemicals or if it's just psychological, but that shizz gives me the blues.

TGI Fridays-The food costs too much com paired to the way it tastes. I'm also scared of the ducks that hang out in front of the restaurant. I'm not getting pecked because some ducks want a Jack Daniels burger.
Joe's Crab shack-First of all it sounds too much like crab shag. Second the place looks like shady stuff happens. Third, the food is kinda whack. Cheesecake samplers shouldn't have a half inch of juice in the box.

Penn Station because I don't like sandwiches (weird as hell, I know). Turns out, the food is pretty great. Greasy and artery clogging but great.

Avoided Subway for a few years because my sister found this weird mark on a piece of turkey in her sandwich. I've been back a few times recently and what do I get? Yeah, turkey. I figure, whatever that marking was, I've certainly eaten worse.

Jack in the Box and not because of the E. coli outbreak. I don't eat there because when we first got one in my town I went and got a milk shake. I then also got diarrhea.....

Sadly in my hometown it was the only chicken joint there for years. And for some odd reason my wife has an AWFUL reaction to KFC's "naked" chicken offerings. Just messes her up bad. Went back to a Churches years later when I moved back to Texas..and suprisingly wasn't nearly as bad as I remember.

You're thinking Arby's...actually I am, same thing happened. I also do not eat Mcdonald's anymore. Only reason, when I drove an 18 wheeler for two years, all trucks stop have for the most part are either Denny's or Mcdonald's. Denny's is also on said list.

We don't have a Church's in my town - but I've always been curious as to what it was like. We have a KFC and a Popeye's, the latter of which I'm none too crazy about.
Greasy-ness aside, how does Church's compare to the others in terms of taste for you guys?

There was one Chinese restaurant in San Antonio called Kim Wah that I didn't care for when I tried their "usual" menu, but once I tried their authentic menu I was hooked. It wasn't that the regular menu was bad, it was not outstanding.

KFC usually cause I always feel sick after eating there. Was it those popcorn chicken/mini-bite things, by any chance? Pretty sure I got sick off those several years ago, which is when I stopped going. My most recent visit was good, but I avoided those things and went for the regular bucket chicken.

I just think KFC has gotten obscenely overpriced when you can get better-tasting chicken tenders from a grocery store deli or Walmart.

I've avoided Arby's since I was a kid and had their "roast beef" sandwiches.....the taste and texture made me gag, and I haven't been in one since I was in high school.
Also, like many others have said, I avoided Jack In The Box for their E. Coli outbreak from a while ago....and it affected the one in my hometown to the point that they almost closed it down for a downward spiral in sales. I went back and tried it recently, and the quality isn't up to par compared to Carl's Jr. or Burger King (which me and the wife still frequent).

Greasy-ness aside, how does Church's compare to the others in terms of taste for you guys? I had Church's once, in Gallup, New Mexico. It was terrible compared to KFC. I actually love KFC's chicken, and I find it far, far greasier than Church's.
