With Marvel the bubble is going to bust one day Every bubble bursts eventually, but comic book movies in general are dependable box office draws and have been for almost 40 years . It's really only the last ten years or so that they've been juggernauts, and when the market subsides it'll go back to having a big hit every couple of years and a range of modest successes to outright failures in the intervening years. It's not hard to imagine Star Wars going the same way. Right now the hype is huge, and Episodes 8 and 9 will make huge bank, while the spinoffs will likely make decent money. Ten years from now I figure it'll be a new film every other year as the market slows down.

Saw something the other day one of the titles for the movie was Shadows of the Empire. So we might see Dash one of these days. Seems he still got some fans out there That was a working title for the Force Awakens. 8 and 9 don't have titles yet, neither does the Han Solo or Boba Fett movie.

I'm thrilled with new, quality Star Wars movie and I'm glad I don't have to wait too long to revisit this universe I love so much. I'm not bugged by these amateur speculators saying the bubble is going to burst, either. People have been saying that about the Marvel movies for how long now? Then, eventually, one will be a success but not a raging one which is just naturally, and then they'll toot their own horns because even a stopped clock is right once a day and they want everyone to know they called it. It's so tiring how it comes up in every franchise discussion. It's such a moot point.

If you believe rumors and with Clone Wars/Rebels shows they want to do something with Black Sun so wouldn't shock me to see Dash in the comics again.
Also sounds like someone from Disney had a talk with Lucas. he now saying they doing a good job. Probably told him they would take away his Disney stock. If he was smart he would shut up and collect his money while the movie does good

I'm usually on George's side when it comes to him expressing his vision of the franchise he created, but this is one of those instances where he might not want to stir the pot.

If I was him I would just keep to my self. Also I didn't know he kept his Disney stock. Best thing for him would be if he could make a Non Star Wars Hit

Who wouldn't want a remake of the game? Knowing EA they would screw it up Sidenote as a kid never knew the them came from Empire

With a SW movie every year I wonder if it won't hurt the brand after year 4 or 5 Marvel have largely gone from strength to strength over the last eight years, so I don't see why not. If anything, limiting it to just one new SW film per year (as opposed to 2-3 Marvel films) probably helps. Marvel does have the advantage of being able to do different genres of movies. Political thriller with Captain America. Fantasy with Thor. Sci-Fi with GotG. Etc. Star Wars would benefit from the off year movies being a bit differently flavored so to speak.

The non-episodic Star Wars movies will definitely have to be different to be successful. People will see them because they're Star Wars but at the same time, they know that the main story isn't progressing.

I like the idea of them using different genres in the Star Wars universe.
Rogue One sort of sounds like it's going to be a espionage or a heist film .. I'm sure it will have action in it too though.

It makes a lot of sense to branch out into different for the spinoffs. They could make the Boba Fett movie a gritty Goodfellas-esque crime drama, for example. Just don't expect no Jedi's That would be fine with me. When it comes to the Jedi, I'm of the opinion that less is more.

I presume the Han Solo movie will show his earlier life, being orphaned, being raised by space gypsies, going to the Academy, getting kicked out, meeting Chewie, being friends with Lando, then winning the Falcon from him, becoming a smuggler, then getting into issues with Jabba. Should be enough for a decent movie.
