If he had come in as Giant Bernard, with the killer moveset he had in Japan (that they would never let him use over here) he'd probably have got over pretty fast, Albert chants or not.

The Ryback thing was just a case of timing being out. As for the Brodus thing on Sunday, that just shouldn't have happened in the first place. That move can be hard enough to do on smaller opponents let alone less mobile, incredibly heavy ones.
I think communication just needs to be better.

Or maybe he isn't as good as we think he is.

the big issue is how they decided to debut him. They hid is face in the vignettes, and during his first entrance. All they said was he was a former WWE superstar who honed his craft in Japan as he entered for his first match. They didn't acknowledge who exactly he was (like was a former IC champ), and most WWE fans have no idea how awesome Giant Bernard was, so the first time he took that stupid helmet off the response was "oh it's Albert. That kind of sucks"

He looks like he was molded out of Play-Doh.
Make him regrow the back hair, put fuzzy boots and a viking helmet on him, and have him shout "HUSS HUSS".

They simply need to scrap the "Tensai" thing. To prevent the crowd from heckling him, they need to cover all of their bases by calling him "The Giant A-Train" Albert Bernard, formerly known as Tensai. The thing is that other than the name, is Tensai any different from those past personas? Once he dropped the "Lord", Sakamoto, and the entrance robes, there's really nothing to heckle. Although I do think Albert Bernard would be a nice name. It ties to his past AND fits the formula of the "FCW Name Generator". Only if he is meant to be related to Andy Bernard and has an accapella singing gimmick

The problem is that he is who he is. Even though he is a talented wrestler, WWE booked him into mid-card hell during his original run. The memory of things like X Factor, the Hip Hop Hippo, and the "shave your back" chants are just there and will never go away for him. The minute he took off that hood on his debut night fans recognized him and it killed any shot he had. Much like the Red Rooster, his past stupid gimmicks will haunt him.
