Not bad.
It works for him I think. No need for him to talk too long, but when he did talk it was fine to me.
Although your opinion may differ on the food puns.

Loved it. Over the top but not completely insane.

Better than I expected. Too "intelligent", though, maybe.

He's going to run out of food puns quickly.
He should just eat his opponents.

One thing that irritates me is the gimmick Feed me more and I am hungry stuff. Works as a catch phrase, but for me at least, not as a promo. Had he actually spoke about getting screwed over and how the titles important to him, than it probably would have sold me on the guy. but we got a gimmicky promo instead.
EDIT: He delivered it well though.

It just cements my theory that Ryback only wants the title because he thinks it's made of chocolate.

The food metaphors are laughably bad. His delivery isn't the worst but it's not really good. With better material he won't be so bad.

A single food mention would be fine for me, but he did way too many. I like his low growly delivery. Even in such short promos he's done you can tell he's more comfortable at it than many others.

Right, He is definitely comfortable with what he's is doing. I wouldn't be surprised to find out he practices in a mirror constantly, but they gotta write these a little better. It's almost parody amounts of food/hungry references. And what kills me is usually Cole over explains every minor detail about what we are watching, you would think he would say, just once, Rybacks hunger is a metaphor or something. ON top of when he took two subway sandwiches he comes off as just a guy who is starving.

Yeah, you can just see that promo opened in a Word doc with 3 guys standing around saying, "Ok, let's fit in 2 more food puns".

Maybe my expectations were just really low but I thought it was really good. I don't think he'll do the food shtick every single time, I'm not worried about that. I'm talking more about his style and manner of delivery - it fit his character, it was intense, it was a unique, it was short and simple and to the point, it was a throwback to the days of shorter promos. I don't think this is going to be some glaring weak spot for him, he'll be able to put over his own stories with his own promos, and I had no idea if that'd be the case before tonight.
