Oh... Fer chrissake, the complaint isn't that he's angry. The complaint is that he's being a jerk, and that he got his way by throwing a tantrum in the ring. And yes: call it old-fashioned, but the good guys should be good. I don't think anyone is annoyed at Cena or Sheamus or whatever else face gets criticized because they're too GOOD. People are annoyed because they're SMUG PRICKS. So if all the top faces are "smug pricks", how is your definition of how a face should act correct, if such a face doesn't even exist in the WWE today?

All babyfaces should act like Bret Hart. He wasn't a pussy, but wasnt a jerkoff either. And he didn't make lame jokes, didn't act smug, realized he was the best but didn't come off like a braggart, talked when he needed to but mostly did that in the ring. And he didn't just steamroll everybody, made everyone look legit and tough to beat. Dude was the perfect babyface. I know it's not necessarily what sells, but dammit he did it right.

Bret Hart was a product of the time.
Times have changed.

Bret Hart was a product of the time. Times have changed. Yes, yes he was. A product of a time. A better time. Nowdays, the guy in your sig would be considered more "charismatic" than Bret Hart, and get pushed harder because he's better at being on talk shows.

I never thought about it like that before, but you're right. Bret had the right combination of what a major face should be.

it's what the fans want. But technically he called Punk out so he didn't get what he wanted initially and once she agreed to the title match did she need to keep talking? Yeah. Ryback got what he wanted (Punk at TLC) but didn't leave so Vickie being in charge and having agreed to Ryback's demands was trying to get him to leave to give the fans a show. wrestlers come to the ring and give 20 minute promos all the time. No reason to rush him out of the ring

I barely understood half of what he was saying. It wasn't a good idea to have him speak AFTER a match, as he seems to gas out rather quickly. Dude was talking with his diaphragm and not with his actual vocal cords.

The 'heel' Vickie gives him everything he wants but he still tells her to shut up. Illogical.

All the while Vickie has a show to put on and is losing time because of Ryback's temper tantrum.

It was Ryback giving the fans what they wanted, not her. The crowd was happy that Ryback got his title shot and probably enjoyed someone telling Vickie to shut up. So the only person who suffered was the most hated person on the roster, and her flunkies. Boo hoo.

Hey, I am not saying what she would have used it for, just it's her responsibility. The question was in kayfabe why Vickie was out there, she was out there because she is in charge temporarily and wants to be full time, Ryback was holding the show hostage until his demands were met and Vickie met them so she could get her show back and keep it going. Vickie had a reason to be out there,

He's a destruction machine who's been majorly screwed over the last 2 PPVs because of other people. He's not wrecking enough shit, if anything. He should have tore the place apart last week.

Because Stone Cold Steve Austin was such a good person who didn't act like an asshole at all. He was a respectful face who used logic and calm behavior, never resorting to violence. Nope, not even close. I don't recall a single time that Vince came out to the ring just to capitulate to Austin throwing a tantrum. It'd be one thing if he had to browbeat her into getting a title match, but she more or less came out there just to bend over.

I somewhat agree on that. I think him wrecking shit until he got what he wanted would have been much better than what we got. Would have been an interesting use of the first hour too, Ryback has the match, gives his pissed off promo, breaks the ring (rope or turn buckle, something easy to fix) and Vickie gives him what he wants to leave. They then spend the next 10-15 minutes talking about that and getting reaction from people while showing the ring crew trying to fix what Ryback did. I was just saying why in kayfabe Vickie was doing the right thing by being out there which some didn't seem to get.

What I remember about Austin is that if he was wronged and wanted something back, he would destroy rather than complain. He would beat the other side into giving him what he wanted. Buuuut times have changed. They've set precedent on kayfabe fines and punishment for that kind of thing, so Ryback really pulling an Austin would have gotten him fired.
