I dunno. I mean yeah, he kicked out of two Swagger Bombs, but he also got some zero offense in that match. Neither one of them really came out of that thing looking too good...

I love how every resiliant baby face is immediately called "Super ____ " now... Its because it happens the moment they become faces. Its funny, and I kinda love it. Orton used to hide behind people. Sheamus was running away from guys. Punk was a little bitch at one point. Now they say f*** it and kick out of finishers. It all starts when you team up with Cena.

I love how every resiliant baby face is immediately called "Super ____ " now... Its because it happens the moment they become faces. So, when they're faces, they have to be suddenly weakened? I buy more a face that is booked strong over one that loses on a regular basis. I honestly believe the IWC wants a wrestling show filled with ONLY heels. What a boring ass show that would be.

It didn't seem like a big deal to me.
They seemingly want Ryder to be a big thing. Thus, he does big thing...things. Like kicking out of midcard finishers despite being injured.
I was just happy to see The All American-American with the US title.

Honestly, while it WAS ridiculous that Ryder kicked out twice, whenever we see a replay of Swagger winning the US title, we're only going to see that last gutwrench. Hell, that's how they did it on the replays tonight. With any luck, fewer people will remember that he kicked out of two of them, and more that he was eventually beat by one.
It's crummy logic, but it's kind of what you have to do in some cases to enjoy the show in spite of certain headscratching choices like these.

An injured Zack Ryder who gets no offense in should not have kicked out of the first Gutwrench, let alone two. I really can't buy Cena or Eve saying that Ryder was in no condition to wrestle when he was able to kick out of his opponent's finisher twice.

The Great Ryder sounds like a great title if Ryder ever adopts a surfer dude gimmick. ...It would fit so well wouldn't it?

What I'd have done, if you really wanted to do the never say die thing for Ryder, would be have him kick out of one, then Swagger could've put him in the ankle lock with him fighting and almost breaking it before passing out.

Whatever happened to cheering the hero who never went down for the count after a heel's finishing maneuver and a brutal assault in wrestling?

Whatever happened to cheering the hero who never went down for the count after a heel's finishing maneuver and a brutal assault in wrestling? If I had to guess, the need to constantly analyze the product. There are better ways to put it, but it feels like moments cause a spill over of frustration from time to time. Seriously. The guy built as "Living his dream" manages to survive a couple finishers (something that has happened with 'injured' main eventers) and it's somehow devaluing the winner. Why wouldn't it build the title by showing that Ryder is willing to be completely destroyed rather than lose it? There has to be a glass half full option. Although, speaking of building the title, I'm surprised at the lack of a "Cena buried the US Title" thread.

Honestly, be it in wrestling or not I just find somebody overcoming impossible odds out of nowhere or needing an insane amount of damage to keep down irritating in general. If these things are built up and drawn out properly it works, but when the person for no apparent reason just keeps popping back up at the last minute it bugs me.
With villains too. It just never makes much sense to me.

somebody overcoming impossible odds out of nowhere But... that's pretty much pro wrestling in a nutshell right there.

I think it was perfectly fine.
He recieved all three of them very early in the match.
I see it as Zack having a lot of heart and not wanting to relinquish his only singles championship in his WWE history.
He ended up CLEANLY LOSING TO A HEEL anyways, so why is this such an issue?

Catching a mistake offguard or something like Hulking Up where he at least fights to his feet after throwing the heel off their game I can get. It's things like Punk at Mania kicking Orton's ass the entire match only to jump straight into a loss out of nowhere that bug me.

I"m the biggest Swagger Marker here but i'm not pissed!
Tough i think it would be better if Swagger unpinned him, yoying, instead of Ryder kicking out.
Ryder is no superman,i think the current superman would be Sheamus(tough he lost today match)

I gotta admit I was pretty mad(To the point where I was cussing and then later cheering Cena for hurting Swagger) when Swagger one the belt tonight but loved that Ryder while hurt still put up a great fight.
