All you've done just now is make me sad that we never got a Jericho/Pillman program.

If the troll rout is how they're proceeding, I think it'd make perfect sense. All his previous stints were predicated by vignettes and things like It Begins, and fans ate it up. Countdown to Y2J, Saveus.222, wrestling fans love talking and analyzing things like that. It Begins was arguable the most indepth of it, and the return was ultimately the most outlandish (at least in looks), so if it was all part of "Troll Jericho," it'd make the most sense if nothing ever came from it.

I didn't get the unsettling vibe. I got the uncomfortable vibe. Jericho was doing the one thing most live TV performers never do which is...nothing. Broadcast silence.
Everything worked so well. I can't believe people didn't like it. He flipped the script. That ridiculous jacket. The throwback fall into the adoring fans. The inane pandering that always insults the fans intelligence (but Jericho let them KNOW he was insulting their intelligence). The demonstration that really faces are just as egomaniacal, if not more so, than any heel.
This is meta-reality stuff like the dude on Grantland/Deadspin talks about.
IMO, this is the real revolution. This is the real change. Not that crap Punk was selling.

If Jericho had, still without saying anything, whipped it out and peed in the ring out of pure celebratory joy, all while smiling and going YEAAAAAAH!!!!!! WOOOOOOOO!!! it might have been the greatest episode of Raw ever.

I thought it was underwhelming and stupid and wont justify it with, oh they meant to troll us. The thing is as of that appearance it had absolutely nothing to do with those video packages. Did it fool anyone? No. We all knew, the entire arena was even chanting Y2J.
Also this "heel turn" people are waiting for...He was a heel when he left. He attacked fans on twitter. bad mouthed the company and wrestlers and was booed out of the arena. He's already a heel.
Does the idea of a program with punk sound good to me? yes...If Jericho's 2012 run continues to be like his return last night, no and like last night I probably wont stay tuned in.

I'll hold off on the "revolution" talk until it plays out a bit more. It certainly has potential as a character which we haven't really seen before in WWE, but I think its too early to declare it as either genius or failure really.

Yep.
I don't get this need to pull a fast one on the audience. They want to cheer faces and nostaglia, they want to boo heels. It's not that hard a concept, but no... we need SWERVES!

The fake smile, and the eyes during the boos right before he turned to the back was great. Evil things are a comin'!

Next week Jericho comes out, says "Sorry about last week folks I was nervous and forgot what I was going to say." then proceeds to be a normal face and nothing happens.

Just watched it again for the first time...WOW. Even better than I remembered. He was definitely stealing people's things. He did a victory lap like Jack Swagger and he played to both sides of the ramp like CM Punk. Overall, one of the coolest segments ever on Raw. If you only watched it the one time and thought it was stupid, try watching it again now that you know he's not going to speak. The moment when the boos take over at the top of the ramp is a beautiful thing. If you don't like it, fine, but Jericho executed that to perfection.

Well.... we kind of DO need swerves if one of those beloved nostalgia guys is going to come in an be a heel. Besides, this isn't even that untraditional. It's just a variation on the classic obnoxious heel character.

Nah. Jericho didn't go far enough to do what Pillman did. Pillman was just on another level. Jericho's actions were MUCH, MUCH, MUCH more subtle than Pillman's, and because of that, the impact wasn't as potent as Pillman's.

I don't even think I could possibly express how much I doubt the theory that he "forgot his lines". A guy like Jericho is a professional at thinking on his feet, he would've ad-libbed something.

One ten minute segment, and some people legit think the videos were swerves, all the little clues will be discarded, and this is the Jericho we're getting and this is as far as that goes.
I just don't understand. I'm sorry.
