That's the thing, Jericho has this problem online as well where nobody believes a word he says or believes anything that happens to them. I understand the whole "heels lie" deal, but eventually, it's the boy who cried wolf.

There's an update saying that Andrews trimmed a cartilage tear in Punk's knee. whatever that means.

If C.M. Punk is forced to defend the WWE Title against Ryback at TLC, that would be an injustice. And as we all know, there is only one way to deal with injustice........ Maybe not for Punk. There could be heavy shield involvement. Punk gets killed dead and shenanigans occur. What was going to happen anyway. Since they like booking him weak, someone retrieves the belt for him. I've seen athletes play a week or two after getting scoped and that involves knee movement too. I don't think someone should retrieve the belt for Punk, but I think the only time Punk should climb the ladder is when he retrieves the belt. All other trips up the ladder should be unsuccessful attempts by Ryback to retrieve the belt. I think it would be funny if Punk wrestles and wins at TLC if not only The Shield helps Punk win but they all help him gingerly descend back down to the ring canvas.

If he's expected to be fit for the Rumble, and assuming he can still put in an appearance at TLC, then I'd agree with adding additional guys to the TLC match with Ryback and let them work so Punk does as little as possible before retaining - maybe have Punk attacked in the aisle and sell that while the others destroy each other in the ring, and then when they are all laying around the ring selling the match, Punk pulls himself into the ring and Heyman or someone lowers the belt into Punk's arms thus meaning no ladder climb needed.
If he can't even do that at TLC, then I'd be more than fine with the WWE title not being defended on that show. It is just one show in thousands without the belt on the line so I'm sure the buy right wouldn't get into negative figures.
But if he's out for the Rumble as well, then have Heyman turn-up with the belt for as long as possible until they kayfabe have to strip him off the belt. Then his title reign goes as far as it can, and gives Punk an eventual ready-made return storyline/attitude.

There's an update saying that Andrews trimmed a cartilage tear in Punk's knee. whatever that means. That doesn't sound too bad. Again, I'm going to assume Punk is good to go until he's stripped of the title.

I just hope he doesn't try to gut it out at TLC and get injured worse as a result. They need to figure out a way to just cancel that match and let Punk get ready for the Rumble if he can make that match. If he can't make it back by then, obviously they have to strip him of the title.

Up until this point, I was pretty much convinced that if he really was retiring in 2 years, they were going to let him hold it for the entire length up until then.
So if this is how they're going about putting some doubt into that, well done WWE.

I hope that even when injured he keeps the belt via a Paul Heyman legal loophole. I'd love for him to be wheel chair bound, milking the injury for as long as he can but still talking crap for months lol.

I'd love for him to be wheel chair bound, milking the injury for as long as he can but still talking crap for months lol. Simple enough. In order to fulfill the "30 day" defense requirement, you get Heyman to somehow convince Vickie to book Punk vs. Maddox, Maddox immediately lays down for Punk.

Meniscus tears usually get treated by trimming the loose torn pieces. This procedure is called partial meniscectomy. Arthroscopy is done under general anesthesia although I can do it with local and IV sedation in patients who cannot tolerate general anesthesia. Spinal anesthesia is not recommended for arthroscopy. Two small incisions are made to introduce the arthroscope and a slender trimming instrument. I tell patients it is similar to trimming a hang nail. The trimming tool is like a nail clipper. It is used to clip or trip loose pieces and then smooth out remaining meniscus tissue. The procedure is Out-patient. You go home the same day and usually use a cane for a week. You will see me for a Post-Op check one week later. After the Post-Op check physical therapy is started and done 2x per week for 6 weeks. Patients usually go back to sports at 6 weeks. We can also repair the torn meniscus in highly selective cases where the tear looks like a clean cut. Repair is usually possible in teenagers or younger patients. When a repair is done the patient has to use crutches and a brace for 6 wks. No running sports for 6 months. myorthodoc.com/ejournal/2011/10/meniscus-and-articular-cartilage-injuries/That is the best I can find on trimming knee cartilage right now.

There's an update saying that Andrews trimmed a cartilage tear in Punk's knee. whatever that means. The WWE update also mentions it was done with a scope. From www.osmcoa.com/arthroscopy.htmlI figure he may miss TLC, but they'll use the opportunity to hype it as a major injury to Punk.

I would book Ziggler vs Cena vs Ryback TLC match, with the winner getting the contract to be number 30 in the Royal Rumble match. Ziggler's briefcase not on the line
Punk doesn't defend the title or work the PPV, Ziggler keeps the briefcase, it's still has a potentially decent to good main event that is still a TLC match, and it starts the build to the Rumble PPV/match well in advance. They are still fighting over something important, in essence the potential of main eventing Wrestlemania through getting a number in the Rumble. I think they could write this match as well, considering they were able to change the Team Punk vs Team Foley match at SS, I think they can change this match to without hurting anyone.
The most important thing here is that Punk is healthy on the way to Rumble. Everyone knows TLC is just a fun B show PPV with a ton of gimmick matches used to bridge the gap before the long build to Rumble, if it was one of the big 4 or MITB I would say differently but a B show main event can be altered to something smaller instead of risking both Punk's health and reign.

It's a basic scope. I would guess he "works" the match.

CM PUNK SURGERY AND FUTURE UPDATE by Mike Johnson @ 4:08 PM on 12/4/2012
Dr. James Andrews scoped CM Punk's knee to repair a cartilage tear that was forcing Punk's knee to lock up today. While WWE blamed the injury on Ryback putting Punk through a table on Raw, the surgery was likely planned as Punk had been dealing with knee issues for several weeks.
According to several WWE Creative sources, there are no plans being made to current WWE storylines, so it appears Punk will continue his storyline with Ryback, although the knee surgery will be written into it.
While we haven't heard this 100%, the belief internally is Punk is still expected to wrestle at TLC. We shall see, but if that is the case, he is one tough SOB.

TLC match is turned into a four way ladder match with Cena and Ziggler added, with Punk seemingly unable to make it to due to his injury, only to sneak in at the end and grab the belt just as Cena's getting it.

Like I said in the Punk X-Ray thread. He clearly hurt his knee at survivor series when he and Cena suplex Ryback through the table and the front part of the table hit his knee. Watch this clip and you can seen it happen and Punk grabs his knee just as the video ends. www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCRjZkgMnxU

Shield brawls with everyone, Goober Mad Braddox climbs the ladder and retrieves the belt for Punk to prove to Heyman he deserves to be there.

They could keep Punk off the card and just have Ryback & Team Hell No vs. The Shield instead.
