Yet a lot of people on this forum seem to watch every week even though they profess to hate the product and think it's horrible.
So two questions:
1) What other shows do you watch every week that you think suck?
2) Why do you watch if you hate the product?
I'm curious.

Because we like wrestling and Impact isn't any better? WWE is the only game in town. Also, boom periods. I started watching in 85, stopped in the early 90s and started again in mid 96 when I moved to a different city and the first friend I made was super into wrestling so I started again just in time for the attitude era. I'm worried if I quit again I'm going to missing the new boom period. I've been impatiently waiting for 7 years now.
Raw went from being a can't miss show to background noise while I'm doing other things.

I watch Raw every week, I have since I got back into wrestling at the end of 2009 when I heard Bret was coming back. I guess I watch because it's the most relevant wrestling show and I like wrestling. Sometimes there are things on Raw that are really great, usually they involve CM Punk or Christian. I don't watch anything else on TV.

because, like a jilted drug addict, I've been waiting for a moment that made me actually care. The last was when Tyson Kidd looked like he'd be feuding for the US title. Before that, Christian winning the WHC.

Fans of a bad sports team don't stop watching the games because they're bad. They watch in hopes of them winning and being good again. Wrestling is no different. They have the tools to be great. They just have to use them properly.

I have the opposite problem.
I think the product is at the strongest it's been in a while. You have a stronger tag team division, more midcard focus and actual storylines surrounding the midcard champions, a long WWE title reign (even if Punk does very little for me), and a new star being pushed in Ryback... and I can't seem to make through an entire three-hour show in order to enjoy it all.
So even though I probably should like the product and I think it's been pretty strong, I've honestly seen very little of it these past few months.

Breaking the habit is extremely difficult. I watch Raw every week even though I might only like one or two shows out of the month (though since the move to 3 hours I HAVE stopped watching every now and then for time's sake), I watch most of my sports teams even though none of them have won a championship in 25 years, and even though I rarely see much 'good' coming from this I still can't manage to stop paying attention to either.
I don't watch bad TV shows because there's better alternatives in the TV field that can capture my attention. I'm not emotionally invested in any bad shows. I've been a wrestling fan for the majority of my life and WWE is right here. It's basically a tradition for me to watch Raw, but I've basically cut everything else out due to my general disinterest in the product.

They just have to use them properly. But wrestling isn't a sport, it's a television show. People will continue to watch sports even if they're favorite team is losing, because the sport itself is still entertaining. If wrestling isn't entertaining, why waste time watching it? Especially considering that by doing so, you don't give WWE any incentive to actually change anything, because you're already proving you'll take whatever they give you, regardless of whether or not you like it.

I've never not watched wrestling, there have been down times and sh***y moments, but I'm a fan regardless. Wrestling has been one of the only things that has been a constant in my life, and it will always be no matter what the product is like. I guess I'm a wrestling addict.

I don't understand it either.
I constantly see people that already bash or complain that the show will suck even before it begins. Than they complain after it about how it sucks.
Here's the thing, I use to do the same with TNA. I use to watch it and it just got me frustrated and angry, so instead of getting emotionally angry at something I don't enjoy, I stopped watching it all together. It's made my life much better.

Professional wrestling is "Sports Entertainment", which is a fancy way of admitting that they're not a real sport, at least not in the vein of something like professional football or basketball. And that's just ignoring the fact that your favorite team doesn't have to be winning for you to find football entertaining, and worth watching. But by admitting that Raw isn't entertaining, you're saying that it's not worth watching. So that brings us back to the original question: why watch it?

1) What other shows do you watch every week that you think suck? Underemployed. 2) Why do you watch if you hate the product? Cause I like ragging on it.

I just can't imagine a forum devoted to American Idol where half or more of the posters come on every day and say "This sucks, it's horrible." And then come back after every episode and do it again.

Your favorite team doesn't have to be winning for you to find football worth watching. But by admitting that Raw isn't entertaining, you're saying that it's not worth watching. So why watch it? Pro wrestling, like football, in general is entertaining to me, so I'll watch it. I've watched HORRIBLE local feds on local channels just because it was wrestling. It doesn't matter if it's bad. I still wanna watch it because I'm a fan of it. I'm a Panthers fan and the team ain't that great. I've sat through several bad seasons, yet I never stopped watching games because there were things about it I liked. Same thing goes for wrestling. There are aspects of wrestling that I'll like regardless if a show is entertaining or not. Also, like regular sports, people love to complain about wrestling. RAW threads here during awful shows are a blast because everybody is having such a miserable time and start taking shots at the show. Finding things to complain about, at times, can be just as entertaining as a quality show.

I think it's fun, even when it's bad. Especially when you have a group of people who can all mock the bad angles together, and then still get excited over the good stuff.

I can definitely understand this mindset. Hell, for the most part, this is the way to properly enjoying pro wrestling even when it's "good." What I still can't and probably will never understand are the people who genuinely get horrifically upset over the stupidity of the product, or who act like their favorite wrestlers "losing" scripted matches is some terrible miscarriage of justice.
