Also, St. Louis has Donny Hathaway, Nelly, Ludo and Story Of The Year (although their side project, Greek Fire, is way way better).

West Virginia has Byzantine,Chum, and Karma To Burn whom I all like. Zao originated here but all of the original lineup left and I believe all are from PA now. Also, one or two members from Clutch is from here. I remember a couple years ago when Clutch had an outline of WV on their site which I found awesome. Also, there is Brad Paisley. While I am not a fan of his music,he seems like a nice guy.
We also have Bobaflex but I try to forget they are from here.

New Jersey people also have The Dillinger Escape Plan. Who is one of my favorite bands ever.
As for my homestate...eh. I like Poison, though they're not a favorite of mine. Donnie Iris is okay I guess. Christina Aguilera is tolerable. Breaking Benjamin...also tolerable. I was a big CKY fan, but their lead singer left. That's about all I got for PA.

Nope. I live a stones throw from Chicago, the city that has more bands than people.
From my town we have Cheap Trick who have gone on national television and said they were from Chicago, they aren't.
Then we have the up and coming "The Color Morale" who I have incredible love and respect for. They are my friends and I am so damned proud of them for what they have done. I miss the boys, I never see them now days.

Yep....For the most part. Go too far East you get Uggo, and there is ALOT of rap that I could care less about.
But overall...Yea, ZZ Top, Edger Winter, Kinky Friedman, Waylon Jennings and the Red Headed Stranger.

I can think of a bunch of Texans, Buddy Holly, 13th Floor Elevators, Red Crayola, The Dicks, Big Boys, George Jones, Roy Orbison, Waylon Jennings, and that's just off the top of my head.

No band from Hemsworth has ever become famous. The closest we have is Sheffield, which spawned Def Leppard and Bring Me the Horizon, or Leeds which gave us Kaiser Chiefs. Not particularly proud of either of those.

Right in my area of Alabama, we have a pretty rich music history that we're pretty proud of. WC Handy is from here. Everyone who was anyone recorded here for the "Muscle Shoals Sound", Aretha Franklin, The Rolling Stones, Beatles, Cher (A cover to one of her albums shows a local studio), Lynyrd Skynyrd and tons more. In Sweet Home Alabama when they say "Muscle Shoals has got the Swampers" that's a nod to the Rythm and Blues Section. John Paul White of the Civil Wars is from my town, The Alabama Shakes are from near by as well. So is Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, of which I went to High School with the Bass Player.

PA is kinda junk for decent bands, really.
And honestly, you have to split PA into "Pittsburgh" (ie : The Takeover UK, The Clarks, ), "Philadelphia" (ie : Terrible Things, G. Love & Special Sauce, Hall & Oates), and "Everywhere Else" (ie : Live, Poison, Innerpartysystem, Fuel [sort of. Tennessee natives, but made their names in the Harrisburg PA area and were considered a PA band up until the time Brett Scallions left the band], The Badlees, Halestorm).
In general, PA doesn't stack up too well.

Only ones I see who I know.
I don't tend to take pride in my local geography, I take pride in my friends & those who work their arses off.

Well, I'm across the river from Liverpool, so The Beatles. Nah, I ain't proud. Half Man Half Biscuit, Boo Radleys, Lightning Seeds, Cast, Dead 60s, Mansun (Paul Draper's from Liverpool originally anyhow, hence the accent) are old pride bands off the top of my awake for 36 hour head. Plus tons of new bands to be fond of too, my particular bias included favourite is Zombina & The Skeletones. I know that's not on a BIG SELLERS scale but they can independently tour Europe without issue so they count to me
