F***ed up world we're living in. That we can unite in condemning such actions lets me believe the world we live in is mostly good, but yeah, certainly some f***ed up residents that stand out in infamy.

I know it sounds a bit bitter but is anyone actually surprised? When I read it I honestly thought "ah, right on schedule for another shooting." Not in a cold hearted way but it's pretty typical. EDITED It saddens me to see that kids that could've grown up to be something greater, to be the best of themselves, have their lives cut short. Those children could've grown up to be pro athletes, politicians, musicians, artists, UN ambassadors, scientists, etc. I just want to cry. I don't think age has anything to do with it really for me, it's a terrible occurrence 'cause 27 people died at the hands of two people who were allowed guns somehow.

Three thousand miles away and everyone on my Facebook is posting the same question "why". Unfortunately we'll never know the answer. This day really makes lifes problems seem so miniscule compared to the heartache that is going on with the families in Connecticut.
I'm not feeling a sense of f*** the world though, I'm feeling a sense of the country coming together and grieving together.

It's an awful tragedy...but life will go on.
I've seen people talk about how "this world is not worth it" or "RIP human race." To me, that's almost as sick as the tragedy itself.
Human civilization has seen some awful events happened...we will get through this.

I hope there's more call for discussion with Obama over what his new plans for gun legislation/mental health support are as opposed to "pray and don't change a damned thing" too otherwise my attitude to the next shooting will be exactly the same. It saddens me to see that kids that could've grown up to be something greater, to be the best of themselves, have their lives cut short. Those children could've grown up to be pro athletes, politicians, musicians, artists, UN ambassadors, scientists, etc. I just want to cry. Please do not get into politics right now. I understand this is an emotional issue, to say the least, but this is the only time anyone is going to be warned about this without their post being deleted or other action taken.

That is a good way of viewing this. Its events like this that can simlutaneously show us the evil that we are capable of, and the good.

Such a terrible terrible situation for those parents It wasn't a press conference, it was just the mayor's office and police dept. making statements without allowing the press questions. They didn't say anything that wasn't already being reported.

Apparently a dead body has been found at a home connected to the shooter.

Its now being considered as the worst crime scene in Connecticut history. Its kinda hard to debate that. I'm just hearing the words from people on the radio right now that are reporting from the scene, and its enough to have made me start crying. None of these people will ever be the same again.
And it was just confirmed that one classroom has not been accounted for.
