So Billboard came out today with their year end list. And to spare the long boat of text, here's a video showing off that list. www.youtube.com/watch?v=847iBWGaWlo (Language Warning!) This thread can be used to describe your likes and dislikes of the list and your best song of the year and the worst song of the year.

You'd think with 900m views, Gangnam Style would've ranked higher.
Also, #3 >>>>>>>> #1

41 f***ing minutes...They couldn't find a way to make it a little bit longer? I mean, why not make it a full hour to really make you not wanna watch it?
@#92 (Cashin' Out): REALLY!? Really!? COME ON! When I saw that video on TV, I thought it was a joke or something.

EDIT: Ah, someone else posted the list.
Not a very good list this year. Too much Rihanna, Flo-Rida, Chris Brown, and too many float-overs from last year's list. It was pretty easy for me to pick a top 10 last year, this year I'm struggling with it.

The #1 song is also the best selling song of the year in the UK so far.

Wow...When the hell did I fall off the mainstream music bandwaggon? Half that stuff is either horrid, or I just never heard of them before.

Okay, three of my favorite songs this year are in the top 15, two of them in the top three (Somebody... and We Are Young).
This is really strange for me. Usually its odd if I even have one song I enjoy make their list.

We Are Young came out of nowhere as almost an instant classic. They just hit it with that song. Been meaning to pick that album up and see if its all that good

Well, guess I'll throw up a top 10 for the year, and I'm going to go outside list for a couple, but still staying in the mainstream.
10) "It's Time" - Imagine Dragons: really nifty track that I've only really been into for the past few weeks, but it's on repeat.
9) "Red Solo Cup" - Toby Keith: If there is one thing Toby is good at it's coming up with a hook that just worms it's way into your head and it sticks there. My guilty pleasure of 2012 for sure.
8) "Too Close"- Alex Clare: Of all the dance track music that came out this year Too Close was far and away my favorite. Maybe it's because it got ingrained in my brain from the IE9 ads, but it stuck there and I dig it
7) "Ho Hey"- The Lumineers: This was the year I learned to love americana style folk, and that's a trend you'll see coming up. Ho Hey just started getting radio play in my area around a month ago, but like It's Time, it's stayed on repeat since it was introduced.
6) "Somebody That I Used To Know" - Gotye: Easily one of the smashes of the year and something was so different for mainstream music it was in my head from day 1. That stupid little marimba riff and just the general darkness of the song made it a real winner for me.
5) "50 Ways to Say Goodbye" - Train: A forgotten gem from this year. A pretty standard pop song with a cool mariachi influence made what was a good song into a great song in my opinion. That little horn riff is another one that can stick in your head.
4) "Gangnam Style" - Psy: It's not just a song, it's a phenomenon. It launched k-pop into the American mainstream and made Psy a worldwide celebrity. Also, the song just makes you smile and want to dance.
3) "Madness" - Muse: Ok, this is the first song that I'm going off the list for. Madness was the second single off The 2nd Law and it easily became my favorite track on that album. The constant hit every bar and the swelling in the verses to a triumphant conclusion, which hearkened me back to Toto's "Africa" which was bonus points. In all, one of the better Muse songs I've ever heard.
2) "Home" - Phillip Phillips: Surprised to see this here? Well, don't be. All season on American Idol I said while watching, "Man, if they like Phillip do a Mumford style song it'll be a huge hit." The final song he performed was home and it took on a life of it's own from there. It won him the competition, got payed at the Olympics during the all-important women's gymnastics competition, opening it up to a wide audience. It's pounding drumbeat, simple stumming and soaring lyrics make not only the best finale song in AI history, it makes it one of the best songs of this year.
1) "The A-Team" - Ed Sheeran: I'm absolutely stunned that this song completely missed the top 100 Billboard list but I'm guessing that had to do more with subject matter limiting radio play than the actual song. Simple and folksy with incredibly well-written lyrics means the Sheeran is going to be around the music forefront and critical acclaim for as long as he continues writing beautiful lyrics. This was the best song of the year in my opinion.
