You have the US Champion, who's been promoted as never having lost to an American by pinfall or submission, who's rumored to be one of the big stars of 2013, lose to a guy who wasn't even supposed to be in this position in just five minutes on free TV. No buildup, no nothing, just another guy who gets eaten by Ryback.
What the heck is the logic in this? If someone can make a good case why Cesaro had to be the guy and why the match had to go like it did, I will gladly be persuaded, but I'm a tiny bit ticked off, not gonna lie.

He has lost by pinfall/submission to an American before. Remember R-Truth a few weeks ago on RAW? What JBL is saying is that Cesaro says he's better than all Americans and so far he has proved that to be right.
It's not like Ryback steamrolled right over him, that I wouldn't have liked. Antonio will be okay.

Like I said in the SmackDown thread... If all it takes for a guy to lose his momentum/overness/credibility is to lose ONE match to a guy who is arguably the strongest-booked guy in the entire company that just about everyone else has already lost to, then he must not be that good to start with.
This isn't necessarily at you, but it still baffles me how often losing one match can lead to BURIAL talk.

Cesaro will be fine, but they could've been kept seperate longer. That match will be bigger next year. On Raw I liked the finish they went with, but with 2 more commercial free hours to fill they did it again and had a clean finish. It's a tough balance between the same matches all the time and giving away some potential big matches, especially with al the content they have to produce in a week.

It wasn't a squash but Cesaro didn't get enough offense

Cesaro is a solid midcard guy. He got rolled by a main eventer. Logic decrees this to be sound.

Didn't Cena once squash Punk in about a minute on free TV? And then a year and a half later the two were duking it out for the WWE title as equals?

US and IC Champs lose to main eventers cause f*** the Midcard, that's why! [/wwe]
Honestly, it's not worth getting worked up over anymore. We all know the booking problems as to why the midcard talent isn't taken seriously. We mention it every week.

Because WWE really has a hard time protecting more than one prospect at a time per show. They've had this problem for quite a while.

I would have love to have been with the one person during Money In The Bank 2011 that was like "I can't take this half hour epic match seriously! Cena squashed Punk in 2 minutes a couple of years ago!".

Squashed him in about 2-3 minutes like he was Iron Mike Sharpe going up against Hulk Hogan. Boy did that one tick me off.

It really wasn't a squash. Just a ridiculously rushed match. Like say if they were given ten minutes and told to forget about it and just go straight to minute 8.

^ What was so bad about that one? Hardcore Holly was once literally in a stable based on losing all the time. J.O.B. Squad was even one of the highlights of his popularity as a wrestler.

I'd like to see Ryback choose his opponents based on how similar they sound to food.

That's not so bad, it only took Sheamus 18 seconds against Bryan.

This would be a problem if anyone outside the internet actually gave two f***s about Cesaro. The guy is talented but man is he dull.
