The fact that there wasn't a "Punk Rock" pun in the title of this thread makes baby Jesus sad.

They still aren't good by recent, 5-10 year, WWE standards. Punk has brought change all right, the changing of the channel. You're pretty much trolling. Punk's had his reign beginning with November 2011 so basically all of 2012 and buyrates have been up. Up by what standard, 2011? The buyrates weren't that great in 2011 either. This company pushed Joohn Cena until he became uber stale, then hot shoted a subpar indy darling with a shooting gimmick into the mainevent in a vain attempt to be edgy. The sad thing is it might have worked, but you can't have a reality/shoot based fed when you also have things like the Muppets co-starring on a semi-regular basis.

Every thing you've tried to use is 1000% complete horse s*** and you know it. So how about this, troll elsewhere because it's stopped being funny. It wasn't suppose to be "funny". I'm not here to entertain, or "troll", you. However if it bothers you this much to have a contrasting opinion around, than I digress. I will not post in this thread again. I just ask that nobody calls me out just let my part in this die.

I'm telling you now. Punk and Rock are going to work the shit outta us. We're gonna be calling "SHOOT" all over the place. These two are the best in the business and I predict it's going to be insane.

I thought Punk doesn't bring any money into the company and isn't popular with casuals? I have no problem if you don't like the guy but to act like he wasn't popular with the non-smark crowd and to act like he killed buyrates and ratings is just straight up lying.

I wouldn't deny that Punk is popular and one of WWE's most profitable guys right now, and I don't blame him for ratings (like I keep saying, not even The Rock is going to be able to pull those ratings up tomorrow. Not while Raw is still three-hours long) but I also think it's stretching it to credit Punk completely for pay-per-view buys being up. He may have been an influence, sure, but for all of 2012 Punk - without John Cena next to him - was the central focus for all of one of them.

Not me and I'm sure not anybody really. I was just disputing this notion that buyrates are down and Punk's not over that Amityville seemed to want espouse.

Mainstream wise, with non-hardcore fans, he has never been truly (and likely never will be) popular. Both Dolph and the a lesser degree Bryan, have the looks, mic skills, gimmicks & connections with the crowd to become mainstream mega star popular someday unlike Punk. Punk is Bret Hart to Ziggler's Rock or Bryan's SCSA imo. Ok, just so we are clear here: = = =

Well, Punk is an exceptional ring general, Dolph does sell like crazy, and Bryan is... bald, so I guess that makes sense.
Not.

I'm sure the match will be great, but I can't remember the last time WWE telegraphed a match's outcome this obviously. You mean besides Punk's last 3+ months of title defenses?

How about his entire reign? The triple threat match at Survivor Series was the one time I thought, "Punk could lose". And that had nothing to do with Punk looking like he was in trouble, I only figured that Cena would be the one facing Rock at the Rumble.

A whole lot of reigns have been like that as of late, so it's not just an issue exclusive to Punk.

"Anything can happen in the WWE!" doesn't apply so much anymore for many things they do.
