He consistently buries Ryback. And buried the concept of Daniel Bryan's character. I may not be using the word bury right... but then I am not sure anyone on the internet does! This is a HHH thread. Use it liberally.

I don't think this is a totally negative comparison. I mean Triple H's 2003 title reign still gets brought up to this day, when a LOT of title reigns over the last ten years have been completely forgotten. I'm not saying everyone liked the title reign, far from it, but it's still relevant and there's hardly any doubt it truly made Batista a star when he beat HHH at WM-21 for the title. As for comparision points, I can see it: -Ultra-Charismatic Manager (Ric Flair) for Ultra-Charismatic Star (Triple H)? : Check (Paul Heyman) -Big Monster Challenger (Goldberg) who the Champion has to cheat to get around?: Check (Ryback) -Frequent Promo Time either opening or closing Raw?: Check. -Stable of younger guys being introduced around him? (Evolution): Check (The Shield + Maddox) So the comparison is fair, it has merit. It's a long heel title reign in the same vein as a previous one, everyone PITCHFORKS DOWN. Couldn't have said it better myself. There's nothing inherently negative or positive about it, but the similarities are definitely there.

Any long reigning champion will be compared to any other long reigning champion, because to keep the belt that long you have to win more than 2 PPV's against someone to move onto the next person to beat for the next 2 PPVs.

I'd take OP more seriously if his grammar wasn't so terrible.

Lies, Phil Brooks isn't a fan of Lemmy & Motorhead unlike Paul Levesque.

Let me just say that if you replace "CM Punk" and the "Shield" with "HHH" and "Evolution" this whole Ryback feud would be seen as this massive bury job of an up and comer, worse than anything HHH did to RVD or Kane or Booker.
At least, thats if Ryback isn't the one to beat Punk, which is what it looks like.

Pretty fair comparison. Hell, Punk's even for me where Triple H was back in 2002 - heel, face, upper-midcard, main-event, no matter what he's doing as talented as he is I have absolutely no interest in watching him.
That said, these days I actually wouldn't really mind another Triple H title run. That also said, I think Triple H is a lot more talented than Punk is - not that Punk is bad in any particular area, but I think he only really excels at comedy. Which by contrast is where Trips has always kind of faltered.

They're also both most at home using their promos to go above and beyond yanking the rug out from anybody else's momentum if it's not someone they personally like.

If you look at the 2012 records thread, Punk wasn't all that high on the top wins list. Daniel Bryan had more matches and won more then CM Punk this past year.
Also, Punk is simply a better promo. Lots of guys are better promos then Triple H.

There will be nobody ever like HHH again. You know why? Nobody else is going to be Vince's Son In Law.
I don't think the reign of terror would have been so bad if we all didn't know the only reason he got to the top in the first place.

The rise of Richard Raphael Roberts Triple R for short.. RRR will have the nickname The App a theme that goes like this "I am The APP and you don't want to play me" sung by Shinedown. His finisher will be the The Coke Plunge as a obvious dig at CM Punk. He will be 20 time WWE champ.

There are certain elements that are similar between CM Punk’s long title reign and Triple H’s reign of terror. I cannot believe that many people on the board cannot see it. The only difference is that when Triple H had his reign of terror everybody from the referees to the low mid card wrestlers had to say how great Triple H is. CM Punk does not get that treatment the only people that claims he is the best is himself and Hayman.
Last year CM Punk lost many matches on Raw. If you look a Raw in 2003, Triple H also lost many matches on Raw. They both always win the important matches on PPV. PPV is the only matches that matter to the WWE because people pay for the matches.
