Believe it or not, this isnt the only banned episode of dexter's lab, as there's also the justice friends episode "Barbequer". Its basically a parody of Galactus and the Silver Surfer (called Silver Spooner here), but it was apparently banned due to the silver spooner being a gay stereotype (i have seen it and while he does act somewhat effemite<sp> , it could probably air on the current CN without any problems).

Can someone please fill us in or link to the best rundown of the controversy? From what I heard, the idea was that this episode would have some sort of incident cause the good and evil parts of Dexter and his sister to split up, with the evil parts frequently swearing. And I don't mean the family-friendly kind of swearing you'd usually find in the show, but some really nasty, South Park level swearing, uncensored. So Cartoon Network or whoever ran the show back then freaked out when shown the episode and refused to air it, but with Adult Swim coming in, it's a different story. So let the skull-f***ing douchebaggery begin!

From what I've heard - which may or may not be true - the swears in the show were meant to be bleeped out so the show could air, i.e. Spongebob's "Sailor Mouth" episode, but the network thought it was still too much even with the bleeps.

Yeah, tomorrow can't come fast enough for me. I've always been extremely curious to see this episode.

Those weren't bleeps in "Sailor Mouth", they were dolphin noises. ;D So with that in mind, I wonder if they'll show it completely uncut and uncensored?

I'm thinking that and the Rugrats episode where Angelica learns a bad word were self-censored, since that was the whole joke of the episode, where there's this horrible word being used, but we have to use our imaginations to decide what. Whereas, from the descriptions, the Dexter's episode was delivered uncensored to the network people, who in turn freaked out, panicked, and banned said episode.

Unsurprisingly it's bleeped. Oh well, still glad to finally have seen it.

I don't recall DeeDee EVER calling Dexter a Skull-f***ing Douchebag!

Well, it's censored to high heaven, so that would be why

That was amazing. Although, IDK if "skull-f****** douchebag" was meant as a line, there was no bleeps long enough to cover that up. I'm not sure it was ever considered, unless they edited it out.

Well...given context, you can mentally Uncensor it. Rude!DeeDee hardly speaks, and even then never curses long enouh to fit the phrase "Skull-f***ing Douchebag"....
That said.....still a pretty good episode of Dexter's Lab. I see why it was never aired, and I'm glad it actually was a produced episode and not an [as] prank.

Good episode. Would've enjoyed it more if it were uncensored.
