I do but the 3 hour Raws are absolute torture. There is just no point to Smackdown these days when everything happens on Raw and nothing has changed for Raw so now it's essentially the two hour show they've always put out - just dragged out through another hour.
It's torture and it's made both Raw and SD virtually unwatchable for me. Which sucks because I've been a hardcore wrestling fan since 2004 and it's never been like this where I don't even attempt to watch SD and I couldn't care less if I miss Raw. When before I'd always at least have SD on in the background and I'd never, ever miss a Raw.
It's not even that the product is bad right now (it's been a lot worse - 2009) but it's just this 3 hour Raw stuff is killing me.

I CARE about it. I care about how well it does, and I care about what talents are featured. I have a little personal connection to it, sure, because I've been watching it since I was young. But more importantly, it's the barometer and the representative for professional wrestling. I care about the storylines because I want pro wrestling to reach a higher standard in people's minds. I care about the wrestlers because I want the talented ones to reach success and make money. It's complicated, but I care deeply about the WWE.

But the majority of people here DO like the WWE, a lot.
People just don't like every single thing about it.

I think people who criticize believe they (the WWE) could put forth a better product. Or that they get some sort of enjoyment out of being miserable. Or they don't like that their favorite wrestler(s) is being treated like a tampon at an Indigo Girls concert.
As for me....well.....I HATE EVERYTHING AND I HATE YOU!!!!!

I love WWE I have been watching for 24 years now.. And I am in my late 20's.
It's been amazing the past 2 years or so as well.
3 people I can't stand though and could do without is Christian, Cena, and Ryder.. Other than it's highy entertaining.
I don't enjoy Impact, and I used to be a huge WCW guy back in the day too.

When someone creatively poops in your mouth - just smile and embrace it!
No thanks homie.
After a long break from 2000-2007, I started watching again from around 2008-now.
I think one of those breaks is coming up for me again. Lesnar. Rock. Cena. Taker'll be back for WM, HHH probably as well. Just...ugh. Yeah - this kind of stuff was why I bowed out 13 years ago.
Hopefully after another 7 years things will actually have changed.

As a sports fan I'm surprised you would take the "just stop caring so much about it" route. Were you pleased when the 49ers were basically spinning their wheels and languishing in mediocrity from 2003 - 2010? Or did you hope that the team would actually improve and voice that in any way, say like, on a message board?

Late 2010-2011 gave me great hope for the future.
But now they are dwindling back into a bad vibe.
I still like WWE... but they are wasting some serious potential.

Yeah, I like it alot. And I even look forward to the somewhat predictable Wrestlemania.

There's definitly things I don't like, booking decisions that make me cringe, and the whole thing has gotten terribly predictable. And watching through the Attitude era has only made it worse by gving it something awesome to compare it too.
However, I do enjoy watching it. Theres still stuff I enjoy, and even things I hate I'm interested in the outcome. I'm also the kind of guy who enjoys movies and comics that often get panned. I live by the motto of Bad wrestling is better than no wrestling.
Besides, sometimes, bitching and making fun of it is half the fun.

But since you brought it up WWE right now is putting a far better product on the field than the York family was during the Erickson, Nolan, and Singletary years. Funny you bring that up because I'm a member of the official 49ers message board and even though we're less than a week away from the Superbowl there's still people complaining about the team there too. Perhaps I'm just not a fan of how negative the internet is as a whole.

Unlike most wrestling fans I actually do enjoy the product, so yes.

I have liked wrestling since I can remember. There have been periods where I stopped watching, but still kept up with what was going on. I will continue to watch for a few reasons.
1) My current job brought me back into it. I work with the developmentally disabled, and they love their wrestling. I work until 10 on Mondays, so I watch the first 2 hours intermittently.
2) I guess above all, I am just hopeful. There are a lot of things I like, and dammit, I want to like everything they do. But if there's something I don't like, you can bet your ass I'm going to complain about it.

Or did you hope that the team would actually improve and voice that in any way, say like, on a message board? As said before, the comparison simply doesn't work here. Sports teams have a single goal: find a way to win over a long period of time. There are many moving parts that go in to accomplishing this goal, such as prospect development, draft strategies, coaches/managers coming up with gameplans, GM's making acquisitions, owners finding ways to increase revenues, etc. etc. etc. Plus, your favorite league is constantly in competition with dozens of other teams, which creates a very dynamic environment. WWE isn't a team you cheer for: it's a company that puts on an athletics-based show, yes, but one that is scripted and has pre-determined outcomes. In that regard it's more applicable to compare it with regular TV shows...and I say that as somebody who enjoys it when wrestling is presented more like a sport! So much of this also seems to boil down to how easily a person seems capable of walking away from a pro wrestling company, or even pro wrestling as a whole. As I said before, once my interests as a kid waned in 1994, I never really wound up being a full-time WWF fan again. I did watch for a couple years in the Attitude Era, but it was something I was very capable of just ignoring once I wasn't feeling excited about it anymore.

I honestly blame Money In The Bank and the Punk shoot promo for all of this negativity. I am not joking either. Yes, two things that were amazing I think raised people's standards and now certain things that used to be considered good aren't anymore.

I'm a huge fan. I can't tell you guys how excited I am about potentially going to Raw in March.
Yeah, some of their choices confuse me and I get mad sometimes, but I love WWE. Like.... a lot.
I'd put a ring on it.

I wasn't using the sports comparison for anything beyond the point that you can be a huge fan of something but you can also be critical of the tremendous flaws that exist in whatever you are a fan of. Just because people may complain about certain aspects of the show doesn't mean they need to abandon watching.

You know, I agree completely, that always struck me as the turning point around when the "pro wrestling is SERIOUS BUSINESS" vitriol really started kicking in around here.
