I think a case could be made that Ontario would also qualify as part of the Great Lakes region even though it is part of Canada. A lot of guys from Ontario wrestle in Michigan especially, I think.

Canada has five 'great lakes,' and given that Huron, Erie, and Michigan are within the state of Michigan, I thought any wrestler who wrestles in Canada's 'great lake' region can probably count for the sake of this thread.

I haven't been able to make it to a CLASH show (pesky lake in the way) but I follow it as best I can. Big fan of that group over there. Tommy Treznik, Mena (who may or may not be retired), J. Miller, and Cameron Skyy are some personal favorites. Miller is getting a slowly painful push in AAW. Ended up in the semi finals for the AAW Heritage Title. CLASH has a show on March 30th with pretty much all these dudes plus Honky Tonk Man, Petey Williams, Zach Gowen, Gregory Iron & more. The promotion has stepped up their game recently in my opinion.

Do you know the location or any other info for the March 30th CLASH? Wouldn't it be at the Taylor Town Trade Center? clashwrestling.com/live-events/"CLASH To The Future: Part 5 Saturday, March 30th 2013 8:00 PM Belltime Taylortown Trade Center 22525 Ecorse Rd Taylor, MI 48180" Yknow, for Honky Tonk Man, I'll go. I don't see him advertised, but who am I to doubt michigander?

Have you been to see Revolution Pro yet? It's the shits. Which is a shame, because I really had high hopes. Being a big Pumpkins fan I felt like I had to at least take a look. A guy dressed like Jesus doing a run in during the main event and getting chokeslammed as my f*** this company moment. AAW is an amazing product. Highly recommend. I drive down from Appleton for it when I can. It's an 8 hour drive round trip, but worth it. I'll be at Epic in a few weeks. I've wanted to check out Dreamwave, but they run in some pretty random spots.

Here's a pretty awesome Roderick Street promo concerning a show on March 16 in Marion, Ohio: www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=4884927074237I think Street is great, extremely underrated. I think he's the only guy with a shaved head who I've ever heard complain to the ref about a hair pull.

CLASH is pretty awesome. I have been to a few of the shows. As stated Treznik is awesome. Very innovative arsenal. Gavin Quinn is a great young heel. You have more known names like Martini, Jacobs, Petey Williams. The guys really go all out in the ring too. No cashed in performances. The shows are super family oriented which kind of sucks but I can see why. They have great crowds.
What ever happened to RevoLucha? Those shows were always the best. I got to see Mascaras, La Parka and Wagner Jr there.

Is that the lucha promotion that was (possibly still is) running in Chicago? I used to see flyers at the Mexican bakery down the street from my apartment when I lived in Chicago briefly but I never made it to any of the shows. IIRC the baker's brother had something to do with it, like he was one of the promoters.

I've never been, but I've talked to quite a few people that went to their shows in Berwyn. I haven't heard very good things to be honest, but their shows are typically $10-$12 so it's worth a look to see if its something you'd like.

That's probably it. I remember all the flyers were en espanol and I spoke even less of it then than I do now so I had the guy read it to me.

AAW in IL and AIW in OH are the top two indy groups in the region. I don't think any others come close quality wise. Probably the two best guys "not on the radar yet" (or maybe just "not overexposed yet") are Shane Hollister and Mat Fitchett. Hollister is from Iowa and Fitchett from St. Louis, I think, but they both wrestle for AAW in Chicago. ACH is also excellent, but I think he just signed with ROH so he's about to become more "high profile."

That's exactly right. It's a problem. I don't really know what companies could do except maybe save their money and run commercials during Smackdown or something. Except Smackdown's not on the local station anymore so I guess maybe ROH? It's tricky to rock a rhyme. And promoting's not that easy either. Maybe it's time for promoting to get less innovative and more traditional. And if TV or radio is too expensive then maybe newspaper. That's about the best I can come up with. Everything I have heard the past couple years from people who are involved with indy wrestling is that the tried and true concept of hanging up posters all over town is infinitely more successful in getting people in the door than spending money on newspaper, TV or radio. There were times that hundreds of dollars were spent on newspaper ads and zero tickets were sold the day it ran, but as soon as they hung up posters, they started getting orders. It's an indication that nobody reads newspapers anymore. As far as TV is concerned, in 2013, with so many channel possibilities and technology if you're not watching it live, a small percentage of people sit there and watch commercials. Posters, everyone sees around town to know the show is happening. The cost of getting some posters made is a fraction of the ad rates anyway.
