So was Silver Age Batman as big as a douche as Silver Age Superman? I like the one where Supes and Batman are holding Tommy guns forcing Jimmy and Robin to dig their own graves.

and honestly... Jimmy probably deserved it anyway... Look as he still grabs at all the money while asking if Supes would ever forgive him

I like how the gentle, halcyon Silver Age era is characterized by Superman's hatred for mankind.

Man, I wish comics still did this sort of thing these days. Just imagine a new Justice League cover:
Cyborg: Superman, Darkseid and his generals are invading Earth again!
Superman: Well start pulling your own weight on this team and take care of them!

Loved when they did this on The Brave and The Bold He wore the Super-Pope hat. For that, I will forever love it.

I think even without hindsight, these were created with the intent of getting your curiousity going. What better way than to show Superman not acting at all "super". Of course, the stories never reflected the cover outside of the plot device, but that was the point.
Anyways, back to Superdickery...there was an actual panel that was posted at one time where Clark Kent was ambushed by a guy who has his life threatened and (somehow knowing) begged Superman to save him. In the process, he rips Clark's shirt, which pisses him off. The guy gets killed anyways, however Clark is thoroughly annoyed by his ripped shirt. Lois shows little regard for the now dead man either, and apathetically claims she hopes the killer is caught. And Clark continues to bitch about the shirt.

"I don't know, Superman, I really don't know... maybe it's all the s*** you put me through for your own goals all these years? Nah..."

So was Silver Age Batman as big as a douche as Silver Age Superman? nah, but he made up for it with unintentional homoerotic subtext.
