it's like DC's entire modern editorial approach is distilled into one image

This may be my favourite comic book cover ever. Guess meta humour isn't such a recent invention. And I love how it seems to suggest that yes, in universe, the inhabitants of Metropolis really are just that stupid. yeah that has to be what... 10 feet? Well it is more than enough to kill yourself... but it's also still low enough for the father to catch her without any problem.

well the citizens of Metropolis may be stupid but at least they never elected a crazy serial killer to run their national defense agency and gave him a whole army of supervillains to run it with

touche. but at least Luthor had some plausible deniability. Ok... explain. most of his crimes aren't public knowledge. the ones that are he always gets away with because he always has a scapegoat ("I was mind-controlled", "that wasn't me it was a doppelganger from another dimension") etc. part of the reason he's such a threat to Superman is that nothing Superman ever does to see him put behind bars ever sticks. Norman, on the other hand, BOMBED HIS OWN ARRAIGNMENT HEARING!
