Thanks for what you do.

Only time I've ever had any dealings with a moderator was when I accidently avoided the swear ban, I was impressed with how polite and respectfully worded the message I received was, as I have been on a lot of forums with unreasonable moderators, this is definately not one of them.

Also I assume the threatening to be shut down had something to do with wwe videos being posted here right? thats why we wern't allowed for a while and are now only allowed to embed fannation uploads right?

In regards to themes/board colors - The default scheme/theme might change, though we will attempt to make it as similar to this as possible.

We are also not averse to making new color themes, it's something we've discussed internally. The only problem I have with it is that in trying to make it simpler and easier to use they managed to make the interface far more obtuse and convoluted than it is currently. Weirdos.

Tested the conversion on a board of mine.

My default(standard) theme stayed pretty close to how it originally was. The yellow was a little brighter, but that was really the only difference(color wise).

There are 25 or so basic layouts that they provide, plus an advanced editor. So the options are there, though I will agree that they are pretty awkward to use at times.

My main concern is how it will affect the headers/footers. Looks as if the old code for individual user colors no longer works. That won't make alot of people happy.

Right, a lot of the headers/footers are not compatible with the new version. This is going to cause a little bit of a headache to start, until we get some more plugins and such that will work with V5. Some of the scripts we are used to and take for granted simply are not available in V5 yet, but I have no doubt that that functionality will be coming.

The only other one I was running was a spoiler script, which I'm not sure if it ported to the new version, or if the new version has it implimented as part of its system. I can see my old footers, but I can't change them to test it out.

I'll let a mod know if I ever get the footer scripts working again on my board(or find a plugin that does the same thing).

Probably already done, but I would recommend making a back up of the header and footer information. I don't doubt that it will be saved off during conversion(as read-only), but I am being told that the old footer information will be deleted December 1, so I will not be able to reference it after that.

There is a spoiler function in V5 already. However, there is not a button to implement the tags - there are plugins that add the button.

Just did a little digging. There is an editable plug-in already created to do customized individual user names, which I'm assuming you already know since it didn't take very long for me to find and you guys have been working on it for a while.

But if not, shoot me a PM and I can point you in the direction of it.

Actually in light of that wouldn't it be a good idea to lock down any of those threads that can be used to collect personal info? Things like your porn star name, songs from the year you were born etc as they can easily be used against somebody.

Well I think it's more appropriate that a Dolan thread ended by going to far and being locked then people getting bored of the thread. The only way it could of ended was the OP made a post that went too far that got the thread deleted and got yourself banned. That's real Dolanism philosophy.
