With the WWE adding HBK to basically all of Hunters' feuds, it's obvious the wwe drags HBK out there so he can build sympathy and heat for whatever program Hunter has.
So my question to you FAN users is why do you think Hunter can't be viewed as sympathetic or a real underdog in a feud?

Because he would have to show some form of weakness or shortcoming in order to garner sympathy from the audience, and he's obviously too insecure to allow himself to be portrayed as anything other than "I AM THE GAME!!! KING OF KINGS!!! I AM THAT DAMN GOOD!!! GRRRRRR!!! BURIALS FOR ALL!!!"

Because he's the coolesy, toughest, best wrestlers with the biggest dick ever.
Poor old HBK and NOA need to get beat up so the guy that isn't nearly as good as HBK can avenge him.

Because his character has been a tremendous asshole for decades.

Imagine if you combined all the positive traits of Hogan, Austin, and Rock but removed every bit of weakness and vulnerability from those characters. That is the way HHH is booked.

Because he always has to be the cool, funny badass that gets the last laugh. It's very rare that he actually seems vulnerable.

They can't really expect us to feel sympathetic for the guy they have the announcers talk about being the strongest, best, funniest wrestler ever who ALSO happens to be the best husband/father in the WWE, can they?

It's hard to be sympathetic for a dude that gets to motorboat Steph's funbags every day.

He might be able to, if he jobs to the enitre WWE roster for the next two years and is seen actually helping people get over...then maybe.
But 13 years of being overpushed will kill anyone...except Hulk Hogan brother!!

it's hard to be sympathetic for the guy whose booking the show, owns stake in a multi-million dollar company and gets treated by everyone like the greatest thing since sliced bread. the fact that he hasn't really "made" anyone since 2006 and has just been coasting on his laurels doesn't help. also, for some people he'll always be "reign of terror" era Triple H, the guy who monopolized the show and drove fans away in record numbers.

Because, and I say this as a fan of the man, he's a dick. Even as a babyface he comes across as a complete and utter douche and scumbag.

Look at Cena's interaction w/Brock leading up to their match last year. He looked & acted like he was terrified of Brock. Hunter keeps no selling him even though he broke his arm twice and his career is on the line.

The man is so insecure that he can barely show vulnerability.
That, and every time I see him, I remember the Booker T WM feud/match.

He doesn't sell vulnerability.
Nevermind his win/loss record in the past, he just doesn't ever put over that he's in trouble or is the underdog in a situation.
At this point, it would probably come off pretty awkwardly if he did. It's established who he is now.

Because he's the establishment guy
It's the same reason Cena can't get sympathy.
They can't fight against the system, if they ARE the system
