I have been reading all the threads on WM and it is really killing my buzz. I am going to WM and want it to be an awesome show. Is there a chance it still can be? I know last round Punk and Taker had a bad series, but I feel like Taker takes WM very serious. Punk may not want to be in this match, but it is still his biggest match ever. It will probably also net him a six figure payday. Do we not think they will go all out and have an awesome match? Brock/HHH will be awesome, I am sure of that. Rock/Cena will probably have an even better atmosphere than last year. I think the undercard actually looks pretty fun. Is this Mania really that bad? I think it has potential to surprise and be a great show.

All the negativity is kind of a buzzkill for me too, but I still can't wait for this weekend. The buildup hasn't been great for a couple of matches but there's not a match on the card I'm not interested in seeing.

Even if it's average it will be an amazing spectacle and you'll have a great time. And with the talent involved in the big matches, "average" is really the worst-case scenario, IMO. People complain about the show every year. If the matches are set up too long in advance, it's "predictable". If the matches are set up too late, "it feels like just another show." Whatever, it will be big and epic and I'm jealous you're going.

i'm going to mania as well and to answer the question yes and no.
theres 3 rematches but all of them on paper are marquee matches. on paper most of the matches should have a good match quality. however, the build has been pretty lackluster imo. feels like mania season has "snuck up on us" that is largely to blame due to the partimers only being around oh so often including the wwe champion. also, the way manias been booked in recent years (whc curtain jerking, squash matches, time consuming filler skits/ concerts at the expense of matches/match time) has made expectations seemingly low.

Biggest show of the year from the biggest and supposedly best wrestling company in the world.
Nope.

This is actually my second WM. I went to 24, arguably the last very well put together Mania. I hope this show delivers the same. Also, anyone that is going, me any my friend who is coming with me would love to meet up. I think it would be great to share some drinks with some other fans and get excited for the show.

Biggest show of the year from the biggest and supposedly best wrestling company in the world. Nope. This. I watch Wrestlemania every year hoping for the best but when you consider that WWE is the only wrestling company with the benefit of such a large audience and such a vast budget, it's hard not to find yourself thinking "what am I even paying for?" when nothing really happens for 3 hours of the show. Granted they churn out a match per show that stands the test of time, but they've done a really awful job over the years supporting that match with a great overall show. My patience is thinnest with the WWE when it comes to Wrestlemania because I never understand how they can coast even for a second on what should just be an all out energized and thrilling event. In fairness I think they did a better job with hyping this year's Wrestlemania card than most. A lot of the midcard feuds aren't exactly stellar, but at least they exist. My expectations are higher for this one than they have been for years.

Biggest show of the year from the biggest and supposedly best wrestling company in the world. Nope. This. Seriously, they just f***ing suck anymore when it comes to booking. Some of the best Wrestlemanias come from slow builds, making moments for new guys, and resolutions to feuds. What do we get? A bunch of matches that are added to the card with little to no build and the 3 biggest matches involve 4 people who aren't even involved in the product for most of the year. And even those aren't as engaging as they should be. So why should I care? Because I may see good wrestling? So what? WWE provides good wrestling on free TV and that's only part of why I watch. Good action with no substance makes me care so little. This Wrestlemania is not going to provide for a single thing I can consider worth the hype to me personally. The only thing that would make it interesting would be a career move such as establishing someone new (that's not happening since the guys who would have to take the bullet (guys like Triple H, Cena, etc.) are involved in bigger matches) or a big turn, which I'm starting to doubt as well.

Biggest show of the year from the biggest and supposedly best wrestling company in the world. Nope. You hit the nail on the head. Add in the price of this thing, and no, no one is being too hard on it. It should be held to an extremely high standard.

Not necessarily. The buildup for this one in particular is mediocre at best, which should not be the case for the biggest show of the year. Add to the fact that they now have an extra hour on RAW to work with and that they have had over a month to build up hype.
I'm still going to order it, however. 22 had a meh build-up as well (not as bad as this years) and the show ended up being pretty decent. So maybe 29 will surprise us.

Don't listen to anyone. I was @ WM IV, which is universally crapped on around here. I loved every minute of it. Enjoy it. I 'll be looking for you on TV, wave to me.

Don't listen to anyone. I was @ WM IV, which is universally crapped on around here. The only thing that most people crap on usually was the length of matches for the most part. The tournament was just fine, and the booking overall wasn't something they seemed to put together a few weeks before the event. And on top of everything else, it made a star out of Macho Man.

I just think people are being too hard on this amount of star power. I don't think the guys involved will let it disappoint. It sucks for Kofi and Cesaro, but would you not rather pay money to see guys like Brock, Taker, HHH, and Rock? These guys are massive stars for a reason. I am truly excited to be there because I have never seen The Rock live. I only went to one house show during the Attitude Era and he was not there for whatever reason. So, I am excited for that alone. I think it will be a great crowd, the matches will deliver, and the atmosphere will be insane.

I'm excited but I don't get why Fandango is making his having his first match here when he is basically a guy from NXT. Any other PPV I would understand it but not THIS PPV.

Curtis is a pretty decent wrestler.

According to an interview with Jericho, the Fandango character is a pet project of Vince's right now. Looks like Vince just discovered Dancing With The Stars! - And no I don't think we're being too harsh on it. The fact is, Wrestlemania is the biggest show of the year so the 8,or so, matches booked should be some of the strongest matches of the year involving the best superstars, booked in a logical fashion. But when you look through the card, hardly any of the matches feel like they're the best match ups that WWE could have come up with for the biggest show of the year at all. *Miz/Barrett - I know it's pre'show but it hardly even seems worth that. Barrett loses all the time, The Miz wins all the time. There's zero heat to this. *"Lots of Funk" v.s CodySandow+Bellas. - This doesn't scream "BEST MATCH WE COULD POSSIBLY PUT ON THIS YEAR", and when you have Cody and Sandow as stars that could have possibly broken out this year - why not put them against New Age Outlaws and showcase them a big win on a big stage? * Del Rio v.s Swagger - The fact they jobbed Swagger out for the majority of last year leaves this one looking flat. A big factor in booking is making sure the matches read like they're important and a big deal - so when you throw a name like "Jack Swagger" on there it hardly excites anyone. * TeamHellNo v.s Zig/Big E - This could be good, but its kind of depressing to see Ziggler and Bryan in the ring at 'Mania but not in a singles match. If WWE booked that right it could have easily been a Steamboat/Savage WM 3 moment. *Lesnar v.s Triple H - This is a rematch of a heavily promoted main event from less than 6 months ago. That match then was hyped up as the biggest and most important match - a match that mattered above everything else, and what happened? It was so important and career altering... that they had to do it again 6 months later in the most unconvincing way possible. I'm sure the match will be good, but why not use Lesnar against someone else for Wrestlemania. *CM Punk v.s Undertaker - I know every year you get a lot of people saying "Oh whats the point, it's Wrestlemania 'Taker will win" but even those people would watch knowing they were about to get a great match, this year even that seems in doubt. I think this year more than any other year in recent memory the people who believe the streak will end here has to be at a big time low. CM Punk lost to The Rock on back to back PPVs 2 months ago - so why do we suddenly believe he can beat Undertaker one on one, just because he got into his head? Gee, great.

I think people are way to harsh on here about Mania in general. Every year it seems there is something to hate about it but really the card isn't that bad. If you remember past Manias the cards were thrown together as well. This is the same thing as it has always been.
Focus on the top three or four matches and go from there. WWE is just doing whatever works best. I think Mania will be great as always and deliver a great show
