HARTFORD, Conn. — World Wrestling Entertainment and the widow of performer Owen Hart have settled a lawsuit over royalties and the use of Hart’s image. The settlement was announced Wednesday by Martha Hart, WWE chief executive Vince McMahon, his wife and former CEO Linda McMahon, and the Stamford, Conn., company. The two sides did not disclose details. Owen Hart died in 1999 while being lowered into the wrestling ring at Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Mo. He was 34. Martha Hart sued in June 2010, alleging that WWE did not pay royalty payments owed to Owen Hart’s estate and violated a contract restricting the use of her late husband’s name and likeness. Linda McMahon ran unsuccessfully as Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Connecticut in 2010 and 2012. www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/conn-wrestling-conglomerate-widow-of-performer-settle-lawsuit-over-use-of-name-likeness/2013/04/03/1be40318-9c9b-11e2-9219-51eb8387e8f1_story.html

What does that have to do with anything? They thought the "Randy Orton has amazing thighs" meme had run its course.

My hope is Martha got some royalties out of this, as that was my biggest issue with WWE's part. So I hope she got a payday.

First Bruno agrees to go into the WWE HoF and now this is settled, 2 things many people thought they'd never see happen.
Who at WWE headquarters made the deal with Satan?

I assume the settlement is just money, as a judge ruled in April 2012 that WWE had the right to use their footage and photos of Owen and dismissed that part of Martha's lawsuit.

What does that have to do with anything? Well, it's from the Washington Post. Perhaps in their mind they need to give non-wrestling fan readers a reason to care about this story...? So....HOF induction next year? .......am I the only one who saw this and thought "Did Vince know about this news when he posted his 1st Twitter on Monday?" "Could THIS be the Friday night announcement???"

So....HOF induction next year? Yeah! About time Martha gets in! I don't want to say McMahon-Hart lawsuits are a holdover from the 90's, but if this litigation went on any longer it would main event a TNA pay-per-view.
