Hmmmm so the night after WrestleMania "darlings" get cheered and the crowd is the "best ever". Following week "darlings" get nothing and the crowd is "the worst ever" Even prompting a wwe should stop touring in certain spots thread. This past week crowd does a wave and they're "trying to get themselves over" Hmmm seems legit(rolls eyes). First off that ziggler/jericho match wasn't even that good. I had no interest in it at all. None what so ever. Partly because i knew jericho was gonna lose. Other because i don't really care for ziggler. I don't care what a crowd does. If you pay your money to go to a wrestling event you can do whatever the F**K you want! You wanna wave be my guest. You wanna sit on your hands and text? Be my guest. I'll never understand why people B***H about what other people who pay their money does at an event. As long as they're not starting fights etc. WHO CARES!!! People care because crowds can really make or break a show. I've seen countless shows from several promotions where the product was enhanced by the crowd creating an electric atmosphere. On the other side of that, if a crowd is lifeless, the show will feel lifeless. Nobody enjoys watching something take place a bad atmosphere.

The concept of a crowd "putting themselves over" is kind of alien to me. Seriously. Every time I see that phrase I laugh.

Hell, I'd rather a crowd act all wacky and potentially annoy a few people as opposed to sitting on their hands all night and only cheering for one person. Exactly. Makes shows a million times better to have a loud crowd getting their chant on for whatever reason than to have a completely dead crowd that doesn't react to anything even if it walked up to them and kicked them in the shin.

Eh, I thought it was annoying both times. Jericho saved it though, that wily veteran.

The one crowd that annoys me though are the quiet ones. Sure they earned that right when they dropped cash for that ticket but as a Western Canadian we only average about one WWE appearance every two years and Canadian crowds are always hot and sell out fast. So yeah it annoys me when I see a WWE event in a quiet city that gets like 2-3 televised WWE shows every year.

Now I want an 'IN DIS BUSINESS' chant whenever HHH cuts a promo.

The concept of a crowd "putting themselves over" is kind of alien to me. That crowd's just trying to get themselves noticed so they can be in contention for a title opportunity later.

Now I want an 'IN DIS BUSINESS' chant whenever HHH cuts a promo. Stop the sillines. I want silence everywhere and people not having fun. That's the ideal surrounding. Unless it's Cena, then everyone has to chant "Thank You Cena".

WWE should take a page from Beyond Wrestling's book.

Eh, I don't see the problem. The crowd was hot and Jericho vs. Ziggler was kinda meh. I think if anything, it shows that a crowd can really help fill in the lull spots of a show.

I'd ideally prefer a crowd into the matches and really adding to the story/narrative of the angles. Not silent nor obnoxious. There have been plenty of fantastic crowds that weren't quiet or doing funny chants because they were bored.
However given the product WWE's putting I can't say I blame them for getting some enjoyment somewhere.

No fun allowed at WWE events. Please sit quietly and don't chant anything. Anyone in violation of these rules is doing nothing more than trying to get themselves over. Can we stop dealing in extremes here? Crowds are part of the show, and as such can add or take away from it. People are allowed to have different opinions about what kind of reactions they like. Sometimes chants can be obnoxious as far as enjoyment goes, just like silence can. Well put. I've always been perplexed by the reaction to crowds, no matter what they do. Honestly, it's the same as the "hive mind" argument about all of us on the internet, sweeping generaities taken to extreme levels, polarization for the sake of it. It's a "those people" based argument, frankly. A crowd reacts to the heels and gives faces crap? It's either bizzarro-world or "getting themselves over". React to faces only and boo just the heels? "Marks and sheep". Pop only for the "main guys" and sit silently for everyone else? "Not real fans and getting it wrong". I've heard the only bad crowd is one that doesn't react, but in truth the only bad crowd is the one that isn't there at all, at lest from a business standpont The "only bad crowd" part can however stand from the perspective of live TV or the people in the ring, though, as if you get no reaction then you have no idea if what you're doing is working or not. Personally, I love a crowd that will say "We like this, but we don't like this" and are vocal as hell. I don't say it's the only way it can or should be, but I will state my preference. Just my thoughts though.

Yea a lively crowd can make a show more interesting but if the crowd is quiet except for certain people oh well. There are going to be times when people jizz over how hot the crowd is and times when people complain about how dead it is.

If you can't say anything about what you watching don't say anything at all.

I've been on record here as stating that the crowd the night after Wrestlemania completely sucked the enjoyment out of the show for me. It was the worst live experience I have ever had in almost 30 years of watching wrestling and has actually led me to not watch any WWE programming since. I started to watch the past week but after reading the spoilers and seeing that the crowd was basically a redo of NJ,I passed. That said,I don't want crowds to be dead. I've said since the night after Mania that I think there should be a medium. Want to do the Fandango music and dance while he's wrestling? That's fine since it's actually relevant to what is going on in the ring. I just don't see the appeal of doing it for a good chunk of the show though. Same goes for the "Yes" chants. I think they are fun when Daniel Bryan is wrestling but it gets a little old when he has nothing to do with the match. I will never understand a "we are awesome" chant though. That to me does make it seem like you're just trying to get yourselves over. Again, these are my opinions and I'm not expecting anyone to agree with me. As someone stated earlier, once you pay for your ticket, you are technically allowed to react however you want as long as you're not breaking any rules. I,personally, find it annoying though and wishes it would go away.

Don't care if that makes me a 'sheep' or you say I 'hate fun' I found it extremely annoying. Mostly because I think Wrestling fans are some of the most unfunny people on the planet. GIVE ME SOME PUNS! None of this shout random names garbage!

You shouldn't let it bother you so much. Crowds like that are pretty rare these days, so it's not like you have to put up with it often.
