I am not really buying the "new type" for now. Only type change I would be for would be making Water weak against Poison.
As it stands, Poison is a very gimped offensive type, and Water is probably a little TOO good. Only thing that really balances Water as a type is that there are so many usable Water types, they wall each other. Grass is a lot better than it used to be, but it now has to deal with Sap Sipper in addition to its numerous other problems, and Fire has Stealth Rock up its ass. Water could stand to be taken down a peg.

Water could stand to be taken down a peg. I agree. Till now the only real attempt to "balance" Water in the last few games has been limiting the amount of Water-types you can get early on(ie, B/W for example), but all that does is push players to grabbing the Water starter, which of course ends up giving them one of the better Water-types available in the game. And of course Poison trumping Water makes sense, you know, poisoning a well, industrial sewage in water, etc.

And Rellik is Killer backwards! Really though, it wasn't until a year or two ago that I understood the city naming theme in the first generation. In my defense, I never got into painting much.

Until May 31st you can get a Level 100 Deoxys through Nintendo WFC if you have the NA versions of Black 2/White 2.

Dunno if this would interest anyone, but here's a modified version of Pokemon using Touhou characters. There were multiple changes in stats in whatnot, methinks, as well as several types have been changed, and gender was switched to yin/yang alignment. And the music was changed as well.
The changed types are these: Beast, Faith (Shinto), Heart, Reason, Wind, Nature, Earth, Dream, Illusion, Miasma, with Dark, Fire, Water, Ice, Flying and Steel remaining as they are.

I haven't played any of the newer games (Heart Gold/Soul Silver, Black/White 1 or 2). Which of these is a good place to pick it back up from? Is it worth playing Black or should I just skip to Black 2?

THAT PANDA IS SOOOOOOOOO CUTE! And we can customize hair and skin colours of the protagonist. Definitely will be giving the female black hair. I haven't played any of the newer games (Heart Gold/Soul Silver, Black/White 1 or 2). Which of these is a good place to pick it back up from? Is it worth playing Black or should I just skip to Black 2? HeartGold and Soul Silver are great, especially for nostalgia and it'll keep you busy. Black/White 1 are good but bored me after the main story was done. The sequels were much better because of more areas, over 300 Pokemon being on the regional Dex, the Pokemon World Tournament where you battle gym leaders and champions from all regions.

Though you should eventually play HeartGold or SoulSilver eventually. Those two are the best Pokemon games out there right now.

The panda and goat are great looking, the bird is passable(I am guessing that is the common bird of the game that everyone will have), the lizard is a bit silly looking, IMO.

It has a new move called Parting Remark Trainers: With customization: Well this time it is no contest, I'm playing as the girl trainer, definitely(usually I try and play as both, though). I mean the guy trainer isn't bad looking, just......let's be honest, he kind of looks like the male trainers for Black & White and Black & White 2..........they really need to update their male trainer template now...... Also I hope the customization isn't set to just those 3 options. What I mean is I hope we can mix and match the features. That way, if I wanted I could make a female trainer who has tanned skin but blonde hair, aka a ganguro.

Also, a lot of you may not notice, but the new region is based off of France. Of course, the Eiffel Tower-type strucutre was a dead givaway.
