Contestants and Judges: I'm going to switch one of Round 29's categories with a category that I feel would add balance to the Round schedule. The Sell-Out category will be pushed back because I feel that it would be more interesting to see the Solo Female Musicians (Ladies' Night) played with four contestants. No one's sent me their songs yet but I do apologize if any changes have to be made.
So, we're going to do Solo Female Musicians for Round 29 instead of the Sell-Out Round.

Three Judges' Rankings are in for Round 28: The Island of Misfit Genres (Pt.2) 1 contestants' choices are in for Round 29: Judge's Round. Here is the format change for Round 29: Round 29 will revert to the same format that we used to start this Season. There will be three Rounds where the Contestants' scores will be cumulative . No advantages will be given and, if they weren't before, every Round will "count". The two lowest scoring contestants will go at it in the Elimination Sing-Off, while the two highest will automatically advance to the the next Round. To make it to the top three will be a true challenge, as the next few Rounds will demonstrate

(Whatever I do, Jack Black seems to show up in my write-ups) The five contestants waited for the Judges to reach their verdict. Killing time in the FAN auditorium proved to be quite nerve-racking and the contestants were fully aware that soon their numbers would be reduced to the final four. Season VIII of FAN Idol started with 17 contestants and, over the course of their arduous journey, only the following contestants remained: Anonymous GM fw91 Knalsic Loves to Boogie Roxie Daggers Stinger4ChristAfter a few more moments, the judges entered the auditorium and handed their rankings to the Host, KingOrangeTyger, who asked the contestants to come to the front of the stage. (We had a burlesque sort of thing going on last night at the FAN Compound. Don't ask.) KingOrangeTyger: Here are the Judges' Rankings for Round 28: The Island of Misfit Genres (pt.2), which challenged the contestants to search the heights and depths of their musical knowledge to come up with four songs, one each, to represent the following, rather treacherous musical genres: Folk Music, New Wave, R&B, and Classical Music. At this late stage in the season, such a task would frustrate even the most accomplished FAN but you all rose to the challenge and gave us exceptional music indeed. Now for the scores. In first place, only one point ahead of second place, is a contestant who's been on a roll of late and laughed in the face of these difficult niche genres. Earning 71 points and taking home the W for Round 28 is... {Spoiler}{Spoiler} fw91!!! Congratulations on your victory. You wowed the judges with the timeless notes of Buffalo Springfield's For What It's Worth, the quirky but infectious Safety Dance by Men Without Hats, the funky Living in America by the Hardest Working Man in Show Business, James Brown, and the guitar wizardry of Sinfonity's take of Vivaldi's La Primavera: Spring from Vivaldi!!!
Most Impressive!!! In second place, netting a lofty 70 points, is a contestant who has shown time and time just how versatile they are, dealing with this foursome of musical wildcards with ease. Please give it up for... {Spoiler}{Spoiler} Roxie Daggers!!! who continued her awe-inspiring run with the folk goodness of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young's Carry On, the original It's Friday! Friday! ear worm with goth music archdukes the Cure's melancholic Friday I'm in Love , Solomon Burke's touching lament Cry to Me, and the modern re-imagining of a medley of Classical music standards, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Overture!!! Roxie Daggers also scored well with the John Hughesian drama of the Psychdelic Furs colorful Pretty in Pink!!!
Anonymous GM. Knalsic Loves to Boogie. Stinger4Christ. Please Step forward. At this point in Season VIII, we can only guarantee a spot for four contestants in the Rounds moving forward. You three incredibly talented, musically diverse, and ultra creative competitors have shown time and time again why you deserve to continue in this competition. There isn't a single weak competitor left and truly anyone can win. We've finished 28 amazing Rounds and the final survivor of this one will assuredly be a force to be reckoned with. One contestant will move on now, while the other two will battle it out in the Elimination Sing-Off, creating a final four that is as formidable as any in this game's History. Earning 62 points and taking the next step is... {Spoiler}{Spoiler} Stinger4Christ!!! who showed us the wonders and the splendors of our lives with Joan Baez's Diamonds and Rust, told us a love story filled with diseased thoughts and poisoned feelings with Soft Cell's cover of Tainted Love, stirred our emotions with Fats Domino's Ain't That a Shame, and transported us to a higher plane with Georg Friedrich Handel's Messiah- Hallelujah!!!
Just on his heels was Knalsic Loves to Boogie, who earned 60 points with folk icon Woody Guthrie's This Land is Your Land, A Flock of Seagull's science epic DNA, Tchaikovsky's revolutionary 1812 Overture, and Sam Cooke's r and b paean, Wonderful World!!!
Anonymous GM was ever so close to Knalsic, taking home 58 points, with her ever eclectic musical assortment, consisting of the haunting Power Hungry Animals by the Apache Relay, Johann Strauss II elegant the Blue Danube Waltz, the New Wave splendor of the Drums' Days, and Rufus & Chaka Khan's evocative Tell Me Something Good!!!
Good luck contestants!!! Two incredibly talented players going at in the most important Sing-Off yet!

Ouch Widow's Peak. Ouch. (WP-1 x4) Thanks for the Nice Scores though J! Makes me feel a lot better. I'm sorta disappointed, too many low placements scoring these last few rounds. It really feels like my time to retire. Too much fun music stuff to offer though, to go already. Anyway, I expected this, and almost sent in my sing off a long time ago, but then I got sick. I have it prepped already, so I will send it once I get to a computer. EDIT: Okay Sent the sing off selection and the selections for next round should I survive the sing off. I hope I survive, because we're getting to the categories that look like I'll have more freedom again and I'd hate to not share some of these cool music stuff I have. My Goal is still to be able to make it to the TOP 3 Rounds. Still - Best of luck to my former team-mate Knalsic! EDIT 2: Oh and I also noticed that pegasuswarrior hasn't made comments the last few round(s). He's never missed a round comments except whatever round it was that I Chose Industrial Disease by Dire Straits (and the Sing-offs, but I don't think those count). Those are always fun to read.

FAN contestants and judges, it appears that one of the Elimination Round contestants has to drop out of the game. Unfortunately, Knalsic loves to Boogie told me that he needed to end his run in the competition. It sucks because he's been a fantastic player this entire Season, his first game in fact, coming up with a phenomenal musical library. Like Moonie before him, a contestant has to leave us that could've gone all the way. So, please give Knalsic a hand, as he's been a tremendous player and I hope he joins FAN Idol again when things are a bit easier for him. Knalsic's song list: {Spoiler}{Spoiler} Knalsic Loves to Boogie- 1. 20th Century Boy- T.Rex 2. Falling Apart- Zebrahead 3. Blame It On The Girls- Mika ES 1. End of The Line- The Traveling Wilburys 4. Chain of Fools- Aretha Franklin (U.S.) 5. American Woman- The Guess Who (Canada) 6. Saria’s Song- Ocarina of Time 7. Life During Wartime- Talking Heads (Stop Making Sense) 8. Toad- Cream 9. That's How Strong My Love Is- Otis Redding 10. Daddy Sang Bass- Carl Perkins 11. Gimme Shelter- The Rolling Stones & Lady Gaga 12. Back to Manhattan- Norah Jones 13. House of the Rising Sun- Walls of Jericho 14. Join Together- The Who (Jew’s Harp) 15. Don't Think Twice, It's All Right- Ke$ha ES 6- Long as I Can See the Light- Creedence Clearwater Revival 16. Clash City Rockers- The Clash Rudie Can’t Fail- The Clash 17. Little Wing – The Jimi Hendrix Experience 18. School Days- Chuck Berry Highschool Never Ends- Bowling for Soup 19. Elvis is Dead- Living Colour Honey Bee- Tom Petty 20. Venus (Under 4 mintues)- Television Foxhole (Over 4 minutes)- Television 21. Fame- Infectious Grooves Do You Love Me- The Contours 22. The Food (Chapelle’s Show)- Common Alberta (MTV Unplugged)- Eric Clapton 23. Gudbuy T’Jane- Slade Battle of the Bands- The Turtles ES#9 Born Under a Bad Sign- Albert King 24. I have to agree with fw91. I'm sad to see Knalsic go in that way, but being busy is understandable. It was a great run Knalsic.

(Sad to have anyone go, but you get the point) anyway, let's finish strong oh and glad to see i won something else than mets memorabilia for a change I thought I gave you something other than Mets stuff before? I'm a Phillies fan, I'm sure it pains me more than you to see all the Mets stuff . You think you're hard to "shop" for? I had to represent Sloth Spartan with either a sloth or a spartan or both a bunch of times, heh. Waiting on one contestant to send in a final song for their foursome. Hope to get it soon. To add more info for the coming Rounds: Rounds 29-31 are cumulative, so the Elimination Round will occur after the next three Rounds. They will all be scored in a similar fashion to the two genre Rounds that have just been completed, with each category ranked separately from 4 to 1 by each judge, the overall score decided by adding up the totals for each category in a given Round. Like the first 3 Rounds (so long ago it seems) they will be added up, with a running total kept and announced after each Round's result. The bottom two contestants will face off in the Elimination Sing-off. There will not be a bonus.

Ouch Widow's Peak. Ouch. (WP-1 x4) Yeah, sorry about that. Really, there wasn't a bad song in the bunch. A few of the contestants picked songs that I absolutely loved, but 2-5(6) were really hard to rank.

Geez, Orange, harsh. Glad to make it to the next round. Good luck to AnonymousGM and knailsic! Yeah, some songs just don't do well with me. I mean, your picks weren't bad, but they just weren't up my alley, so to speak. I try to judge as accurately and fairly as I can, though, and unfortunately some songs end up on the bottom.

The final four would-be fan idols joined with their host, KingOrangeTyger, in saying goodbye to their friend, Knalsic Loves to Boogie. KingOrangeTyger:... And as we've discussed, there will be a FAN Idol 9 in the near future. Why, our sponsors are hard at work searching for just the right tropical location to strand, I mean, send our new contestants to in order to challenge their musical acumen. Of course, we're going to take pains to add drama, you know, a Round where people can steal artists, a Round where they have to stay up all night and then perform in front of a gang of Angry Samoans, you know, things like that. So how are you going to spend your free time, now that you will be leaving us? Knalsic Loves to Boogie: Oh, I'm never going to stop dancing, that's for sure. Listen to some grooves, get some ideas. Moonie sent me an invitation to visit him on Gooker I; needs me to help him repair the Otunga mirror. KingOrangeTyger: Tricky situation, that. Well, we've talked about it. Don't let it get you down. Knalsic, the only way you're gonna survive is to do what you think is right, not what they keep trying to jam you into. You let 'em do that and you're gonna end up in nothing but misery! Knalsic Loves to Boogie: Oh, I know. (Waves to the remaining contestants) See ya guys! Make me proud. Bust out that '70s groove when you can! Waving back, the Host sighed and addressed the Contestants. KingOrangeTyger: Please follow me, Contestants. It's time you learned more about your Judges. Leaving the FAN Stage, the Host led the contestants deeper and deeper into the catacombs of the FAN Compound. They walked down many winding staircases, some wrought out of the metal used to create the first War Games Cage, and through many honeycombed offices where they found FANs hard at work recording a kazoo version of Fandango's entrance theme and creating the prototype for the Totally Divas board game. You too can be a Bella Twin and get a boob job! Pretend to marry Tyson Kidd in a Smackdown themed ceremony (Teddy Long Holla Holla heart attack not included)! Call Natalya chunky! But that's for next Season. They came to a long hallway that seemed to curve upward. Indeed, the hallway had a strange, subterranean feel. The Host assured the Contestants that they would be safe and asked them to board their ride: The Wrestlemania ring carts acted much like mine carts and led the contestants up and down a rather snaky path, finally leading to the first Judge's room. The Contestants found themselves in an enormous den filled from floor to ceiling with a host of nerd memorabilia. Batista's collection of lunch boxes filled a vast shelf, his favorite Herculoids collector's piece standing out among the Star Wars, Star Trek, and Starrcade lunch boxes. A bulletproof glass case housed a peerless comic book collection: Action Comics #1, Tales of Suspense #39, that one Ultimate Warrior comic where he appeared to have engaged with some S&M lovin' with Santa Claus, Incredible Hulk #181, Detective Comics # 27. A small but impressive theater showed Chikara matches, with a marked preference in the King of Trios tournament, as well as Raw vs. Smackdown 2012 simmed matches featuring the current WWE roster battling it out with anime characters, super heroes, and bizarre amalgamations of wrestling legends and food protects. Rice Flair and Barley Race were a force to be reckoned with. Gojira's kaiju collection stood hand in mutated flipper with Orange's Kiss-o-abilia, the highlight certainly being his VHS copy of Kiss Saves December to Dismember, featuring The Hardy Boyz vs. MNM vs. The Kiss Demon and an exceedingly pissed off C.M. Star Child. The piece de resistance, however, was the FAN Game Room: Lying next to a copy of the Wrestle Rock Rumble edition of Guitar Hero was a power glove with stylized cobwebs on the fingers, the initials "WP" stitched to the side. After spending an incredibly entertaining 4 hours relaxing in all things Nerd, the Contestants followed the Host to the next Room. Evidently, this room's denizen had a soft side for the ladies. A real smooth cat, this Judge was an art collector who yearned for the perfect female form. Ornate African wood carvings of gorgeous and powerful female drummers found kindred spirits with lush French prints of dance hall girls singing and floating on their feet. Mycenaean pottery celebrating lily white madams who played the aulos (reed pipe, though this is a bit anachronistic) were arranged with care alongside Japanese Ukiyo wood prints that showed joshi wrestlers beating each other down with head dropping suplexes, singapore canes, and the occasional flaming table, though, as was often the case, there were wood prints showing them at karaoke night. The centerpiece, however, was this painting by Anne Archer that was placed on a pedestal depicting Perseus riding the Pegasus: Finally, the Contestants were led into a room that housed a set identical to the FAN stage, with numerous dioramas that depicted the competition on a miniature scale. QueenYellowLion was depicted haranguing the Contestants and scolding the judges, among them the Highly Well Known GM and Thong Brad, who's name should not need any further explanation. Entire Rounds were painted on canvas and sketched in notepads: What's in the Mox?, for example, where contestants were given Best of Jon Moxley (Dean Ambrose) tapes and had to come up with music to go with his various out-there promos and a Round where the Contestants had to find songs that represented the various Heavy Metal genres... as recorded by that Heavy Metal Maniac Pat Boone. That room's resident also made a series of adventures featuring the Guest Presenters from TNA, including Samoa Joe, who hosted the Island Boys category (songs from Australia, Samoa, and other islands), Kurt Angle, who hosted the Freaking Broken Heart Round (Contestants had to find songs about breaking up) and Jeff Hardy, who hosted the Don't Quit Your Day Job Round (songs from people famous for other professions). The Host was not amused with the QueenYellowLion doll that, when you pull the string, talks about how silly the scoring system is. Finally, after all that inspiration, the Fatal Fourway Contestants came up with these songs for Round 29: Judge's Round I: Parody Ghetto Lovin'- Unknown artists www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0Ox000QH20Harry Potter (Before We Say Goodbye)- James@War www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4xWKA4b19wYOLO (Ft.
