Also, what the hell happens if there is an Xbox after the Xbox One? MS will eventually take the Xbox One offline. Does that mean you can't do anything when they take the system offline?

"Buy the new Xbox One Adapter, you can still play your games, only $399.99. It only works for 50 games, if you want more you have to purchase the super adapter only $599.99."

When I first got the information about the reveal... I was optimistic. Then I was confused. Then I heard more information and I became annoyed. Now that I've had time to process it all... I'm pretty pissed and mystified by their own stupidity.
Wouldn't it have been a better press conference for them to just walk on stage and say, "Hey everybody. We got nothing. Buy a PS4! See ya at E3!"

Hm. Well, the actual hardware sounded quite good, but the always-on and no-used-games make it unsustainable. It's a pity. The 360 is the best console I've ever owned (and the controller the most comfortable to use), and I really didn't want to go back to Sony after how disastrous most of my experiences with them have been.

This is the most surreal thing I've ever experienced in gaming. They almost literally opened a window and dumped shit on the masses all while setting fire to a pile of money. What would possess them to do something like this? Bleeding people dry with XBOX Live was bad enough. This takes Scrooge McDucking to a completely different level. They're redefining "greed" and they just may have killed their gaming division in the process.
They might as well have called it the XBOX ONE EIGHT SEVEN.

It almost seems like Nintendo actually has a shot at becoming number two again. As stubborn as they have been, as blind as they have been to their consumers, they have NEVER told gamers to f*** off like Microsoft is doing right now.
It's just sad. I mean, I understand the concern the industry has expressed over pre-owned games cutting into their profits. I definitely understand it. But for Microsoft to stand up and say "I'll save the day." is just stupid...
I mean, Microsoft is probably baffled at this point. "If you're angry about not being able to lend games to your friends, why not have them come over and play it?" Heh, I have friends in wheelchairs... simply visiting me is not an option due to travel, due to me living upstairs, due to their current health.. whatever. My own option is to bring my entire system over there in order to show them a game. Which is something I REALLY wanna do... lug an expensive piece of equipment around every time I merely want to show a game to someone.
Basically, as irrational as it seems.. it almost feels like we should be able to hold Microsoft liable for any shitty games we buy in the future. "Hey, I picked up Captain America Vs. The Flaming Butthole because it looked interesting... turns out it sucks, the controls were clunky, textures popped in and out, it just really seemed unfinished... due to the fact the game just goes to a blank screen after twenty minutes of playing. But, since I had NO way to test this game out to see if I liked it.. I paid 60 bucks for it.. now what?" Microsoft: "Thank you for your money. f*** yourself and die in a fire."

majornelson.com/2013/05/21/xbox-one-and-used-games/ Well, at least you don't have to pay any fee to play your games at a friend's house. Just have to sign on your profile. Which is kind of a hassle, but it's a lot better than what was suggested by the Kotakus of the internet.
