Worst console I ever owned was a Jaguar. However, I still played Cybermorph and Alien Vs. Predator a lot when we had it. I just wished I had the Turbo Grafx still. Bonk's Adventure, Bonk's Revenge, Neutopia and one other game was up there. If only if the neighbors kids didn't destroy the console.

Hey Virtual Boy was awesome! -13 year old me. And I stand by my younger stupider self -_- AS do I. Just I hated that when I played it for too long and then went outside, I was not able to see the color green for a while.

Yeah, I can't agree with Sega Saturn. It gets a bum rap partly due to its horrible initial rollout (understandably) and the PS1 whipping its ass like Sega owed it money, but its library was pretty solid- Virtua Cop/Fighter, Nights, Virtual On Cyber Troopers, Die Hard Arcade, Panzer Dragoon, Sega Rally, some good Capcom ports, etc.
Also, Fighters Megamix. Any game that allows you to play a kung fu-fighting stock car is a winner.

It's really obscure, but the worst system I ever owned was the Action Max. It hooked up to a VCR and you used a lightgun to "shoot" objects in the video footage. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Action_Max

The 90's was definitely a time full of bizarre ad campaigns that made little sense...but this one, I just don't even know what to make of it. I don't remember seeing this ad at all, but it just...I really don't even know what to say about it other than "bad".

Let's not forgot that most of the problem was that games came out later for the Saturn than the PS because it took more effort to make them . Eventually this lead to the problem of companies simply not making certain games for the Saturn. A long with the fact that a lot of good Japanese games simply weren't brought over(the country where the system was actually doing extremely well). Sega in a way could have stood a chance if they hadn't blown it. Processing wise, the Saturn was actually better. I am glad to say that I owned a Saturn.

The SEGA CD. It seemed to really hurt SEGA. There were only a few games for it and it was really expensive. Also it was replaced by the Saturn very quickly.

Wasn't the Atari jaguar so horribly designed that the consoles were likely to be broken before the first use? I also remember something about the lid being too low and pushing against the disc so even if it worked, it wouldn't be for long AND it would also break the game. This begins and ends with Zone 40 Hm... I wonder if it's subtly trying to make you think it is a different console.

That sounds more like the Jaguar CD, which connected to the original Jaguar and looked like a toilet. The regular Jaguar was a cartridge-based system.

Not to mention from what I heard the original Jaguar system was actually fairly decent.

Sega Saturn. None of the local places even carried games to rent, and I ended up having to switch to N64 after a year or two. All that means is you couldn't get games for it in your town, that doesn't mean the Saturn is the worst console of all time. I still play my Saturn, just last week my friends and I spent a full day playing it. The graphics were great at the time, a great processor, and there were some outstanding games for it.

Hey... at least the Virtual Boy had Jack Brothers and Mario Clash and that one Wario Game, which were kinda fun. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R-ZoneAll the R-Zone had was a ton of tiny, crappy Tiger handhelds with a stupid headband.

Yeah, the Saturn may not have been as good as the PSX or N64 but it was definitely a good system and it even has some pretty cool exclusives. IIRC it was also the first system to have a Fire Pro game that allowed more than 4 players simultaneously.

This begins and ends with Zone 40 Oh my god, that is so ghetto. I know right, I was actually charmed with it's ghetto-ness when I first took it out the box. I gave a little smirk as I noticed the blue part in the picture was actually a sticker and not a light and that it not only had a power supply but took batteries as an alternative...then I plugged it in...oh god it sucked ass, it was so bad that I wanted a refund and I got it for free! The games all had the graphical impressiveness of frogger and none of them were motion activated at all, it was just lame, 100% lame.

This begins and ends with Zone 40 Oh my god, that is so ghetto. Wow, I just researched it and I was shocked to find out that there is an officially licensed variation of this thing for, wait for it, SEGA. It features 50 built-in games which include 20 SEGA classics... that are already available on the virtual console. The rest is made up of crappy sports and arcade games that probably wouldn't impress a Newgrounds newbie and are quite often knock-offs of popular arcade games and apps. Also as you can see on the picture, the controllers were designed to look like Wiimotes but were used like regular ones and were therefore borderline useless (I also can't help but notice that the "start" and "select" buttons are inverted compared to most systems. SMRT). You would have thought that after the Sega CD/32X debacle, they would have learned to avoid putting out crappy, underwhelming systems that barely work, especially if they rip-off one of their main collaborators' product.
