I think the point of the picture's more, "Yeah, screw Lucina!"

Well those are the 3 that are unlocked by default if the demo version is anything to go by.

Also, where are you supposed to put Lucina in that part of the stage?
It's perfect with three characters.
Four, you just can't get a cool evenly distributed pose like that.

This bears no credence, but here's some results from a Smash Bros.-themed poll. I'm not surprised with most of the choices. I think you all know by now which newcomer most people can't stand. imgur.com/a/MTLCIThough, if I had voted, here's how I would've done it, but for some, I'm including second choices: Favorite Newcomer: Little Mac (Villager would be second) Least Favorite Newcomer: Dark Pit by a country mile, with Shulk second Favorite Veteran: Ness Least Favorite Veteran: Wario (since they basically eliminated the only reference of Wario Land and made him less creative) Most Wanted Cut Veteran: Roy (Wow... people voted for Pichu?) Properly Represented Franchise: Mario, with Animal Crossing afterword Improperly Represented Franchise: Golden Sun (0 references altogether), with Kid Icarus being second due to all the Uprising references and the horrible choice of Dark Pit over Medusa or (shudder) Hades, and Donkey Kong/Metroid tied for third. DLC Suggestions: New characters, new stages, and game modes

I'll say...
Favorite Newcomer: Lucina, mostly due to being unexpected; her, Rosalina, and Palutena were my most-wanted ones but the latter two I saw coming from a mile away. Least Favorite Newcomer: Shulk or Pac-Man. Favorite Veteran: I'd guess Ness since he's inherited some of Lucas's moves and he was my main. Least Favorite Veteran: Yoshi as ever. Like the character but he's just not fun to play as and he's not very good. Most Wanted Cut Veteran: Lucas or Ice Climbers. Properly Represented Franchise: I really don't care about how well a series is represented, but I'm pleased with the tons of stuff from Kid Icarus and Fire Emblem. Improperly Represented Franchise: Ice Climber got screwed. DLC Suggestions: New / veteran characters are what I most want.

Favorite Newcomer: Palutena! Least Favorite Newcomer: Shulk. Favorite Veteran: Dedede. Least Favorite Veteran: Lucario.ROB close second. Most Wanted Cut Veteran: Lucas. Properly Represented Franchise: I like the Kid Icarus representation.. Improperly Represented Franchise: ,under represented not sure, maybe Mother even if i don't play the game. DLC Suggestions:Moar characters.
Tough i really don't care much about results of sudden, mysteirous polls.AND I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU DARK PIT,THE WORLD MAY HATE YOU,BUT I WILL BE THERE FOR YOU.

Favorite Newcomer: Robin. Least Favorite Newcomer: I'd say Dark Pit, just for more clones. Favorite Veteran: Bowser. Least Favorite Veteran: Yoshi, just because he still doesn't play well. Most Wanted Cut Veteran: Ice Climbers, I guess? Properly Represented Franchise: Mario, obviously. Improperly Represented Franchise: F-Zero and Metroid. DLC Suggestions: New characters, new stages, and new game modes.

Honestly, I genuinely don't understand why people take issue with clones. They're far easier to make and they don't play exactly like the person they're leeching off of. In particular there's the mindset I've seen some people take that they'd rather the roster just be missing those spots entirely than have the clones on it, which just seems completely self-defeating to me.
Then again, I've also seen people try to argue that Lucario and Wolf aren't remotely clones of Mewtwo and Fox / Falco, which just screams to me that they just don't want to apply the label to the ones they like. Like, yeah, they're different but Wolf still has all of Fox's special moves and his A moves largely function like Falco's even if they don't look it, and Lucario while he only directly shares the one move plays very similarly and clearly had Mewtwo used as a base for him.

The only clone is dislike is Ganondorf because it makes 0 sense.
I'm ok with clones in small doses, since as said, they don't take much to make.

It is weird they haven't given his moveset to someone else and gotten him his own by this point, but it not fitting is hardly unique to him. They had to completely make up Falcon and Fox's movesets too, and Ness and Lucas have ones consisting entirely of other people's powers.

I know, but Falcon and Fox had no representation outside of their ships(And fox was still kinda fitting),and they were unique. Lucas and Ness it was from their games at least. Ganondorf getting same movement from Captain Falcon just irks me because there was no reason it is not possible to make a moveset to him,and there is no connection between him and Falcon.

I think with custom moveset and alt/female costumes, you really don't need clones like Dr. Mario, Dark Pit and Lucina anymore. And speaking of Dark Pit, I think the reason why people are piss off at him being in the game is because they view him as the Greg Gagne/Erik Watt/Garett Bischoff of Smash Bros.

Thing about the custom moves is that the animations have to match mostly match, save for Palutena. That explains Dr. Mario, since he is F.L.U.D.D.-less, thus that one move has differences that Mario wouldn't (yes, I agree they should have either souped up F.L.U.D.D. or scrapped it, but whatever). Dark Pit does have a final smash difference, and him and Lucina both play a little differently. While I would have rather had Medusa to complete the Kid Icarus 1 Trifecta, Dark Pit as far as the story goes is a somewhat important character. So that gives him a good inclusion. Lucina...eh, I didn't mind having a female Fire Emblem, and I don't know the series enough to see how else they could have differentiated her moves from Marth.

So I've been watching videos of the game's single player mode.
Can this game come out already?

Favorite Newcomer: Little Mac, LOOOOVE Punch-Out!! Least Favorite Newcomer: Mii Fighters, I can do with these guys or Wii Fit Trainer, but both is overkill Favorite Veteran: Captain Falcon, he's achieved meme-status for a reason Least Favorite Veteran: Lucario, I blame the furries for bringing this guy back Most Wanted Cut Veteran: Wolf, I loathe clone characters Properly Represented Franchise: Fire Emblem. Shit, this might be one of Nintendo's big franchises now Improperly Represented Franchise: The Legend of Zelda. You can't bring in Ghirahim or Midna, but you can bring back Ganon, still as much of a clone as ever DLC Suggestions: You can never go wrong with more characters

Also..at least Lucina and Dr Mario have different looks. Dark Pit could literally be a recolor. Lucina was going to be a female alt for Marth before becoming a clone and Dr. Mario could easily be an alt for Mario too as in the case of Project M mod. The Koopaling and Alph prove that having different look isn't a excuse anymore. Dark Pit is just laziness....a clone with Pit Moveset and Zelda/Shiek final smash. I'd rather have them give Mario his melee moveset back and had the Fludd be a item.
