What's Rat Liker doing in the Impact Zone?! It's the return of Black Reign (played by Matt Striker)

So this sounds it's effective as of....now?
Unfortunate. He was a really decent commentator.

This is how his last TV appearance should have gone.

I liked him. He got a lot of crap by the other commentators but I usually enjoyed him on the headset. I agree that he should have been given another chance as a manager, he could be dis-likable in a good heel way as one. He and Big Daddy V were a good combo. Needles to say, I'm not marking out, bro. (Also I thought he was pretty attractive and consider him one of my man-crushes, but that's beside the point )

A real shame. I really liked him on commentary (other than the thousands of nicknames for each competitor and going OTT a little too often). I'd much rather have him than Cole or Lawler.
I think TNA might pick him up, and they'd be wise to.

Well, that sucks....he (along with Scott Stanford)was my favorite commentator, and always thought he got the shaft based on Lawler and Cole's opinions on him.
Wherever he ends up, whether it be in the academic or pro-wrestling field, I wish him nothing but the best.

This sucks. I cant belive I'm gonna type this but I think TNA would utilize him a lot better than WWE.

I was a big Striker fan. I'll miss his ridiculous back stories for wrestlers and giving them overly long and unfitting nicknames ('Poison Fist of the Pacific Rim' Yoshi Tatsu and 'American Psycho' Vance Archer are my personal favourites.) This news saddens me as he's a hell of a lot better than Lawler and it made me sad how King and Cole would unashamedly bully him every month on PPV. Best of luck Matt.

He was halfway decent as a commentator but tried WAY too hard and came across as very inauthentic.

Good riddance. I've never cringed harder at commentary then when he was on the headset.

Replace either Tenay or Taz with him and Impact's announcing will be tolerable. This is what I want. Get rid of the shitty Taz.

I'll always remember his great ECW commentary, and how much Lawler seemed to genuinely hate him. I know I've said this story multiple times, but when I met Jerry Lawler, one fan asked him about Matt Striker and Lawler said "he (Striker) thought he knew more about the business than everyone else whose been in it for a long time." So yes he does genuinely hate him

Good riddance. I've never cringed harder at commentary then when he was on the headset. More annoying than Michael Cole? More annoying than 1980's Vince? My first exposure to Matt was his hosting of the Randy Savage DVD. I enjoyed the enthusiasm and genuine love for wrestling that he brought to the dance. WWE's loss will be someone else's gain.

At least those two are easy to ignore, they just become background noise. Striker was just eye-roll after cringe after eye-roll after cringe.

All I've learned from this thread is that I miss Dirty Curty.
Seriously though, sad to see him go. Seemed like he actually had a passion for DIS BUSINESS.

Dont worry, he has an evil clone they can use to replace him..... but to be srs I wonder if they're planning on using Colt Cabana as his replacement. I always wondered if John Lauranitus heard that Matt Stryker was a good wrestler and ended up signing Matt Striker by accident No he was hired (at least partially) because he originally made the news as a New York City school teacher that was fired for taking sick days to wrestle instead of personal days. Also he was alright as a commentator... when he was on he was on... when he was off he made constant references, forced nicknames (Japanese Strat-o-caster!), and gave really dumb reasons for matches... (Kofi and Kaval played the new wrestling game at gamestop all day and decided to become a tag team!)
