What a waste. He was one of the more effective guys on the mic of this era.
That said, I wonder if he had a crappy attitude backstage. When JBL's commented on segments Striker's in, he's always sounded really contemptuous of the guy, like the way he used to about Miz, and I don't believe there's anyone else JBL takes that same attitude towards these days. Would help explain why Cole and Lawler worked so hard to undermine and sabotage Striker, besides the fact that he was making it obvious how blatantly they were phoning it in.

Well he can now tweet more pictures of his junk without fear of getting fired over it

I like Matt Striker, but he got a longer run than many did. He has nothing to be ashamed of. Not even that picture that got leaked.

I was always a big fan of him as an in-ring competitor. A little while back when he was teaming with Regal on NXT, I had hopes that he'd be a wrestler again.
Kind of sucks, but hopefully he can do some good things elsewhere.

I never like hearing about someone losing a job, but I will say that I'm now looking forward to future episodes of The History of Monday Night Raw on WWE Classics. Striker and Renee Young make the show almost unwatchable; I always hit the MUTE button when they come on.
Maybe now, WWE will just run the show as it originally aired, without "witty" humor from the show's host(s). Why does that show need a host, anyway?

Well, I was a part of the target demo that got Striker's sense of humor and actually appreciated him paying attention to the wrestlers without being an overbearing clod.
So, I'm flipping a table.

This sucks. I cant belive I'm gonna type this but I think TNA would utilize him a lot better than WWE. I wouldn't mind having him in Mike Tenay's chair at all.

He was pretty annoying, though to be honest I barely noticed him in recent weeks/months.

This is how his last TV appearance should have gone. Only if Johnny was dressed as Fandango.

I thought he was a good hand especially on ECW. I guess he got a bit carried away sometimes, and RR 2011 was the end of him.

This sucks. I cant belive I'm gonna type this but I think TNA would utilize him a lot better than WWE. I don't think that's true at all. They would stick him in there with Taz and Tenay, Taz would bury him every 5 minutes and he'd be gone in 6 months.

Nooooooooooo. I'm a huge Matt Striker fan. This sucks :-( I loved his commentary. Yeah he got carried away sometimes, but I always thought it added to the moment. I thought he genuinely cared about the product and making it good. Here's hoping TNA or ROH picks him up.

Yeah, I think Matt Striker "marking out" ended his career as a commentator on the main shows. Oh well. I'm interested in what he would do now, whether it's wrestling or announcing.

Mixed feeling about this. Part of me found him annoying, but another part of me appreciated his dedication. He was given some real crappy segments to work with (like hosting NXT) but always did his damnedest to make it work. I don't think there's much demand for him out there from other wrestling promotions, but I hope he lands on his feet. I'm sure he's devastated. It seems like he really loved working for the WWE.
As for what's next, Maybe he'll grow a crappy goatee and start marking out for Aces and Eights. More than likely, I think he'll wind up doing occasional indy appearances for whatever local feds are in his area (New York, right?) and maybe go back to teaching. Or maybe he transitions his TV skills into being an infomercial guy or something.
EDIT: They'll definitely have to hire him back to host the "Best of NXT" whenever that DVD comes out.

I like Matt, but the thing that annoyed me about him would be how he would make references to stuff he wasn't supposed to, but do it in a coded way, like saying "don't forget what the second 'W' in WWE stands for."
